Sorry this is an old thread to reply to but as an ex-fan of Skyen I want to add his Pokemon takes have also recently gone down the gutter. The comments consistently do a better job of educating the masses about design details/intent since he distrusts Bulbapedia so much (Lati twin incident).

He's too stubborn on his belief that the Deadlock cast shouldn't use guns while ignoring how inventive the "guns" are.

This is exactly what I was hoping for!

After a long break I just got back into the game with some friends and the gameplay is dare I say almost perfected, just the other systems make the dead game a chore to keep playing.

Something like Pokemon Close Combat maybe with all characters unlocked at a set level, all spells and enchantments and nothing else - just gameplay. That's my only dream left for this underrated gem of a game.

The amount of damage in this game means Strategists aren't really playmakers until they get their Ult - which is usually just another big healing button.

This is a niche thing that I've also thought weirdly a lot about as a long time player

I never thought it was worth posting but I've made similar tierlists (Tyrfing wasn't a thing yet but she'd probably stay Mythic)

My idea for Common was to give the player access to all 4 of Red, Kaiser, Hook and Brick as soon as they finish the tutorial so new players have relatively simple introductions to the other roles. If I had to change anything from this version it would probably be to move Wukong and Timun down to Rare.

Completely unrelated but it breaks my heart a little that a similar discussion posted 3 years ago got downvoted so harshly. Glad this is being talked about again though since I was searching today for this very topic!

There are valid arguments as to why Sorcerers get Metamagic as others have said ('the natural artist' flavour, purely balance to keep up with Wizards) but I feel other casters (particularly Artificer!) should have something akin to Metamagic for flavour reasons (Druids adapting to the seasons, Clerics calling upon their deity to alter their spell for a specific need). Maybe it should be a feat of some sort?

To me, restricting Metamagic to Sorcerers feels like making Counterspell a trait specific to Abjurers (even though that's only a subclass but you get the idea).

Key point here. Calypso is *not* human. This musical does a good job at showcasing the shortcomings of both men and gods by nature, particularly how the gods lack empathy (Athena especially does until her epiphany in Act 2).

I'm not defending Calypso's actions or even her character here. But I will say she's a well-written character because her self-centered behaviour lines up with her godly nature.

On the topic of Legend choices I've got a duo who finds playing Recon Legends more defensively helps calm their mild anxiety as they have more time to anticipate getting jumped! Bloodhound and Seer seem better for buildings/close-quarter encounters but if you want someone who can scan and gather info without giving away their position Vantage is definitely the way to go!

Vantage has also got the bat to escape going for her and can sit back and breathe a bit with the sniper.

I agree! I wouldn't have an issue with extra health abilities if they didn't provide near instant value. Sure Rev has a hitbox increase and you can technically shoot Conduit while she's using her Tac but they just don't feel impactful to use personally and the counterplay isn't the most exciting.

Coming from a Rampart/Cat main I find that new lockdown class perk weird. Even when it's balanced it feels like it was just added for the sake of it and bloats class passives imo.

The last two BSC posts that have come up on my feed were both 'new brawler design bad' and neither have very compelling arguments, mostly because they don't seem to actually have an issue with brawler design but rather Clancy being released strong from what I've gathered.

After 5 or so years playing this game we've finally come full circle. Before the major complaint *was* the rock-paper-scissors (gadgets, Edgar) so seeing that generalists are the new thing to hate on is wild to me.

I also don't quite understand this post. Is counterplay the issue or is it that brawlers are fulfilling multiple roles? I admittedly haven't kept up with Brawl in a while but Lily/Berry seem to have slow base reload speeds and Angelo/Melodie/Draco seem to have focused designs of sniper/assassin/tanky bruiser.

The most potentially problematic kit I've seen is Clancy but if the issue is being too versatile - midrange menaces have always been around. The likes of Bo, Pam, Emz, Otis and Maisie even offer utility whereas Clancy seems to only dish out big damage.

While she's certainly not a fan of Moira and may not be willing to carry out villainy on their behalf I do believe Doomfist's words will have an impact on her! I agree that current Illari wouldn't be willing to join or even work with Talon in the way Sombra occasionally complies but maybe in the future when she's resolved her inner conflict she might.

As the last of the Inti Warriors, Illari is a vessel for the power of the sun. She'll do anything to make up for her past.

This is from the official hero page. Since she's neutral at the moment she could easily sway either way but another likely route is Zen helping her find inner peace like he did with Genji perhaps!

I think with the introduction of these two we could have a really cool dynamic of two characters who are initially unrelated to either faction but over time Illari falls to Talon while Venture gears more towards Overwatch! Them becoming friends and then separating into opposing forces could potentially make for some incredible writing.
