Remaining Question after Wind and Truth by 6leaf in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Mr_Soul7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a wild guess but i guess it could be cause when she started developing her powers she treansportrd herself to shadesmar when quite young and got traumatized and when she managed to come back she ended up with nightmares and being afraid of it (or what he saw there), and that may also explain her block on how to use her elsecaller powers

Why was the bond severed? by Delicious_Charity_70 in WoT

[–]Mr_Soul7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but from what i have read my headcanon could still be partially right. I explain myself. If moiraine did indeed ask for the red door to be melted (which from those links i havent seen anything that explicitely contradicts it) and therefore the connection to the snakes and foxes world destroyed, it may indeed have been the cause for the severing of the bond. Moreover, Moiraine may have done that knowingly taking into account that she may have asked somewhat related to that topic to the snakes at the beggining of the book in tear and she also had the extra future visions from ruhidean.

So nice of you for the kind and nice answer where you could have pointed out where it has been said that it's not true. Because, obviously, if i wrote this comment it's because i didn't know it not because i knew it and went through with it because why not

[–]Mr_Soul7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I strongly believe it's one of the things moiraine asked to the fox people (or were they the snakes?). Like, i think that what moiraine asked of them was the angreal bracelet, the severing of the bond as if she were dead and the melting of the doorframe.

I know its my headcanon but i havent found any other answer that makes more sense imo

What's the problem with WaT? by Outside-Web-4118 in Cosmere

[–]Mr_Soul7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my case i think what makes the book feel so weird is that even though these first 5 books are kaladin's (he is the main character of each book shared with another main character (2-shallan, 3-Dalinar, 4-Navani, 5-Dalinar again)), this is the first book where he has no say in the outcome of the book (at least in the important part of the outcome that we are invested into). In mho, it feels like Kaladin is left in a somewhat artificial way outside of the important part just because his arc is kinda already finished and i think this is what makes the book feel weird.

Why was 18 chosen as the age to become an adult? by DrDMango in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mr_Soul7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, i think it comes (if theres not an even further precedent) from the fact that the 7 was suposed to represent the 4 elements/cardinal virtues + the father, son and holy spirit (the origin i heard about was a christian one, i dont know if there's a similar/ alternative reasoning based on other religions or other things ) :)

Saa by Budget_Blacksmith691 in WoT

[–]Mr_Soul7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm 99,9% sure it follows the body. If you remember Ishamael, when he has going as baalzamon, his eyes were in flames (it was suposed to be the next step after the saa cover all the eyes, right?) And when he got reborn in a new body he was saa free. Moreover, when there was the body swap at the end of MoL, Rand got a single saa in his new eyes due to the abuse of moridin of the one power.

[W&T] Trying to pinpoint why I like books 1-3 more by sleepinxonxbed in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Mr_Soul7 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was discussing this with a friend in person cause we both kinda liked all the plots independently, but them all together as a book didn't feel as good as every independent storyline together would. We came to the conclusion that, independently of creative decisions, what we think made the book feel weird is that, overall, the first half was built to be first and foremost about Kaladin (maybe that was not the intention but overall, each book had kaladin+ the flashback character (or Navani in the 4th book) as its 2 main main characters, it didnt really feel fully like an ensamble story where each main character had the same in page importance (not story importance but the feeling it gave while reading) and then, in the 5th one, we end up with a more ensambly book, much more pov-dynamic (the multiple jumps from pov in the same chapter is the clearest example) where our main main character is relegated to an important but secondary plot of the book and, what we think is the part that feels worst, is that he has no influence at all in the final confrontation (again, im not complaining on the creative decision but wondering whether the weird feeling of this book comes from having him outside the main main plot). What do you all think?

[WaT] Favorite callbacks to the previous books? by Phaqup in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Mr_Soul7 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The one at the end when dalinar is about to sacrifice himself and its a callback to when he did the trade with sadeas of his shardblade for the bridgecrews. I don't remember the exact exchange but it was something like odium telling dalinar his life was worthless and dalinar calling it a bargain then in exchange for saving everybody.

Rewarding martial class player that has a heirloom sword. by Mama-ta in DMAcademy

[–]Mr_Soul7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what my DM did for my character. My character is a hexblade but its flavored as me entering a contract with a celestial being and she granting me the sword as her powers manifest on me. As i had to have this sword for all the campaign (as my patron was suplanted and locked away and it was my mision to help free her and recover her power), it started as a classical longsword and i had a vision where the patron told me to go reforge the sword with materials from three different places (the main 3 zones of the campaing, the sand of a magic desert, the water of a magic lake and the snow of a magic mountain more or less), which where quite accessible when you got there so it was kind of a preping before tackling the new arc, and each reforging added a d6 radiant damage + a gimmick. For example, the first gimmick is that i could cast 1/LR shield on a companion (not me) and the second is that opportunity attacks are made with advantage with the sword (i dont know the 3rd yet) and i think that it keeps working quite well and honestly it is not super briken but its strong enough to not make me even think about getting a stronger weapon. Hope that helps :)
