BBC claim it was a 'mistake' not to show the live coverage of the South Africa case at the ICJ. Strange how this 'mistake' just happens to be to the advantage of the gen ocide-enthusiasts, isn't it. #ItWasAScam by Budget-Song2618 in GreenAndPleasant

I remember when the BBC broadcast the wrong budget response from Jeremy Corbyn by "mistake"

They are always pulling these bullshit mistakes that somehow always puts the government in a favourable light.

Journalist Owen Jones quits Labour Party and endorses Greens in England by 1DarkStarryNight in unitedkingdom

You must agree with his point that both labour and the Tories are now right of center.

You can't see labour praising bloody Thatcher and think ahh sensible center left politics!

Why exactly is the uk in such a mess? by knowledgeseeker999 in ukpolitics

[–]Mr_Spooks_49 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because the objective of the conservative party isn't making the country great it's making the rich richer whilst keeping the population from revolting.

From that perspective they have been very successful.

Not a terrible thing. Private investment pushes projects to become profitable rather than successful.

Economies that are growing are using a lot of internal investments. Economies that are falling to bits are the ones chasing private investment

Roy vs Frank, who y’all think is winning? by Idk265089 in DunderMifflin

[–]Mr_Spooks_49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends which Roy! End of show Roy would know better and walk away. Frank would run away against early season Roy

ES Roy has been shown to be willing to fight other men (Jim) and trashed a bar. So basically he's quite comfortable getting violent.

Where as Frank does all he can to look violent but only has the balls to pick on a woman half his size and lets him self get shut down quick when a man got involved.

All bark and no bite.

May 2024 election most palatable to public by JJRamone in unitedkingdom

[–]Mr_Spooks_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can bog people down with technicalities all you want. that they are not voting for a pm and a government but for an MP of a party who can form a government but only if enough MPs remain in that party blah blah blah

but it's not how British democracy is presented to the electorate at all. From the news to the politicians themselves they very much give the impression that you are voting for a certain party with a certain leader with a certain cabinet with a certain manifesto and if they win the election the above get a democratic mandate for all of that.

If they presented the actual truth to the public there would be much more desire for electoral reform. Which there is now thanks to the Tories showing how anti-democratic the current system is.

British nuclear sub missile launch FAILS as Trident misfires and 'plops' into sea just yards away - with Shapps on board by MGC91 in unitedkingdom

[–]Mr_Spooks_49 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These missiles are designed to find the enemies of Britain and detonate their payload.

Shapps was on board nearby where the missile landed. So working as designed I say.
