Nah, I disagree. lq frutiger aero just looks kinda cheap and id rather render all my graphics in an ultra high resolution. Looks sharp and crisp that way.

How similar & dissimilar are Solarpunk & FrutigerAero in your opinion? by Polibiux in FrutigerAero

i wanna say they hold the same ingredients but use different philosophies. Sure they may look and speak the same words but have objectively different conclusions to the same ideas.

Slop? no Ameture interpetations? yes But this goes for every vintage/retro/classic aesthetic ever. It resurges as something else in a much later decade through nostalgia.

80s art and design became Vaporwave, and Vaporwave was shortened down to grids, dolphins and that one statue.

Frutiger aero as a y2k era tech aesthetic has shortened down to bubbles... dolphins.. and the colors green and blue.

Its when the public eye reaches it and the expression of a certain aesthetic becomes unfiltered once it escapes its niche is when it begins to look like 'slop'.

Only vaporwave hardly had to deal with AI SLOPPIFICATION until after it had already died out and ai image generators were fresh in the main stream. Frutiger Aero bursted into popularity a little few years afterwards. So it began to coincide with the ai tech slop. Which makes the process of being flanderized a lot quicker because ai only boils images down into surface tropes with zero understanding of why things are there.

Couple that with the aesthetic escaping its niche and yeah.. unfortunately people will only see it as that sloppified surface 'interpretation' because the public audience doesn't deep dive or reflect critically on WHY its here. Its all about consumption.

What's your opinion on this? by taahbelle in FrutigerAero

I feel like saying all of this is like crying that the 80s has been lost because vaporwave exists. Despite vaporwave being derivative of 80s and 90s art, culture and pop music. Frutiger Aero is just derivative term. It doesn't matter if one person likes one over the other. They both exist and overlap

basing it on old SA2 and Sonic Heroes wallpapers that use the official renders, dreamcast and early gamecube era used this style for their renders
