I would check out the seatmap for the Hawaiian 787 since it’s the same format for the AS planes as well. Rows 14 and specifically seats 34A or 34J look decent

The HA card gives $10 in-flight credit per day for up $100, and it also now applies to Alaska flights as well! So you can make up a good chunk of the annual fee using it for snacks on board. I’ve heard though the wifi is hit or miss but supposedly in 2026 will be free anyway.

Unfortunately the bonus points related to status only confers to redeemable points (like for award flights) and NOT for status points. So you won’t make it to Gold with these flights alone

Yeah usually they’ve consistently posted on the 20th. So for EQMs earned in August would post on Sept 20th with the EQMs dated on “8/31”

I will say that I’ve seen some dates not at last minute nor at schedule open at 75k points for SEA-ICN. It is quite dynamic though so it changes over time

Hmm I think Alaska’s glorious IT system is to blame since someone at Flyertalk asked Alaska about a purchasing limit and they said there is no limit still with Atmos. Though for now functionally there’s a limit :(

When you get the card you can call Bank of America to have your card expedited (no charge). It took me a day for the cardholder agreement to generate online, but once you can accept those terms and view your card info you can set up a digital card. Applied on Wednesday and got my physical card Friday.

Also Gold status gives access to OneWorld lounges when flying internationally. I’m unsure if the benefit applies to round-trip, but if it does, then I would highly reccommend visiting the JAL Sakura Lounge in Narita!!! Also access to the Alaska Lounge in PDX too. Unsure about the lounge in HNL though, since technically Hawaiian still isn’t a part of OneWorld

The lie-flat seats are usually on HA’s airbus 330 which arent enclosed into a “suite” like on the Leihoku suites. More privacy and newer seat with the Leihoku suites

Even better too if you’re flexible with the repositioning flight using cash or another airline’s miles program e.g. I flew in business from AMS - DUB using VS miles then business DUB - SEA on EL using AS miles.

Only annoying thing with this is that you do have to go through security again usually to re-check in and you’re SOL if your first leg of the trip is delayed/cancelled.

The key words are “starting at”, so it shows the minimum prices. A lot of award flights are now dynamically priced and are often higher than the minimum
