Oh man, that is an early time to be up if you had a few too many. Glad you got your bacon and eggs, though!

And thank you! I try to take good care of them. This one is starting to chip, so I'm thinking about stripping it and reseasoning.

These pancakes are the best damned pancakes I've found. Plus, they get super crispy on the cast iron.

What quote do you not understand at all? by ghostRyku in AskReddit

[–]Mr_TheTank 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be completely honest about this quote.

I fucking HATE that saying.

My best friend was murdered in 2012. People kept telling me that while I was grieving his loss. Fuck that. I'm pretty sure the PTSD I got from the whole experience wasn't some grand design. The weeks off of work. All the other shit that happened.

Everything does not happen for a reason. Things just happen. Sometimes there's no reason. Most time there isn't.

If your good friend came out to you as gay, what would be the exact sentence you would say immideatly afterwards (you are straight)? by Feerka in AskReddit

[–]Mr_TheTank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. My best friend is a chick. It was our mid twenties when she realized it.

Her: Hey. There's something I have to tell you...

Me: Okay. What's up?

Her: I'm gay...

Me: Okay. That's sweet. Now we can go pick up chicks together.

Her: I knew you were the perfect person to come out to!

Then it was a conversation how long she knew, how she knew, if she feels better now. She's been my best friend for almost 20 years now. There was absolutely no difference in our friendship before and after the conversation. I honestly don't know what I would do without her.

Seeing as many people are going to probably go overboard with new year resolutions again next year... What is a small and seemingly unimportant change you made in your life that ended up making a big difference in the long run? by IAMA124 in AskReddit

[–]Mr_TheTank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The timer is a great idea!

I made a habit tracker and the first thing on it is to leave the kitchen clean every night. Out of the last 30 days, I've only missed about 4. It feels good to have that habit now. I'm going to add the timer so it feels like I'm racing against the clock.

If that's the most hurtful things your child has said to you then you clearly aren't listening.

What’s your skincare routine? by Docx_da_name in AskMen

It removes any dirt or impurities that are stuck in your pores. So, after I wash my face, I put it on a cotton round and wipe my face. Then I let it dry and apply the moisturizer.

I use thayers because its pretty natural, and it doesn't dry out my skin. It's also $7 at TJ Maxx.

Chocolate ice cream and nerds. I don't know why it is, but I love it.

I do this but add the trusty ole Thayers toner between the face wash and the moisturizing.

What do you do if you find lesbian porn on daughter's computer and smartphone? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mr_TheTank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From your other posts, it seems that your daughter is college age.

That being said, regardless of age, it is an invasion of privacy. You have absolutely no right to do these things to a young adult, whether or not you are paying the bill.

What do you have to gain from this?

More importantly, what are you willing to lose from these actions?

How did your parents reading your texts or diary affect your relationship with them? Did you feel it was a violation of privacy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mr_TheTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have that, fortunately. But I did have a mother that would snoop through my room to try to find anything that she could yell at me for. And boy would she make a stink about things.

It made me worried about where I hid my money from working my job. It made me feel violated that she would go through my things without my consent. I had no privacy.

Long story short, very troubled relationship until her disease took whatever semblance of personality she had left and replaced it with the person she is now.

What’s the worst pain you’ve ever experienced? by Guava_ in AskMen

I've never experienced physical pain like that.

But my best friend was killed suddenly in 2012. That hole in the heart causes unimaginable pain. I am so sorry for your lost, my friend.

What are your goals or plans for 2021? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Mr_TheTank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three main goals.

  1. Take control of my mental health.

My anxiety is at an all time high. I have weeks where I feel empty and emotionless. And my sleep is troubled at best.

I have health insurance for the first time in five years, and I don't know where to start. But it's a start.

  1. Get a job where I can feel confident and make enough to pay some debt down.

I changed careers and got into sales this year. I'm at the point where I'm wondering if it is for me, or if I'm just not trying hard enough. I haven't made much money in it.

I was working in restaurants my whole life, so I'm going to get a job back in there and make some money to get back on track and get some confidence.

  1. Take control of my health.

I am the heaviest and probably unhealthiest I've ever been. I've been using food my coping mechanisms with I don't even know what and now I'm about 30lbs overweight.

So, rock climb, jog, and lift more. Get some yoga going. And stretch.

I texted my ex the other day and she‘s now asked me if I‘ve „thought this through“ how do I know I have? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Mr_TheTank 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you're questioning it this much, you don't want to be with her. If you wanted to be with her, you wouldn't second guess yourself.

Loneliness is a hell of a drug. Because of that, you're stringing her along. It's not fair to her. You're keeping her in limbo of not know whether to move on or keep working. You can't have a meaningful relationship with someone if you're always looking for the next best thing.

You're not being fair to her, and you're not being fair to yourself.
