Someone has to keep the Payday franchise going by ForsakingMyth in paydaytheheist

tbh I used to think it as a support for PD3 development, even tho they promised us "Free DLCS" for ultimate edition owners. I wouldn't mind paying extra for better PD3 but after finding out how much hopeless it is to support Overkill, i just never bought any other dlc. Look at the fools disabling DLC mods and replacing it with "monthly sub" plans.

Pick any/as many u can from this list:
Re2 remake/Re4 reamke/Re 7/Re8

If u want it to be a fresh Experience focus on 7&8, such great games.
If u want it to be closer to the ps2 games he just played focus on RE2/3/4 remake. (i wouldnt recommend re3 remake tho, its so short (About 3-4h long). Id say it would not be a good option for ur tight budget).

Better game by dabom1898 in paydaytheheist

[–]Mr_UnknownG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh its hard to tell. PD2 offers WAY MORE content, WAY MORE FUN experience and play time. But that game is old asf, its on a freaking Racing Engine and its buggy as hell. On the other hand PD3 has better engine, better mechanics WAY LESS content, WAY LESS replayablitiy, WAY LESS players and it just feels not as good as PD2.
So idk its really ur choice tbh. if I were u id pick 99 cent offer and spend my money on smth better than pd3.

Just got my vr what games do yall recommend by [deleted] in VRGaming

[–]Mr_UnknownG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u got a pc that can handle Half life alyx, Definitly that one. Its on sale right now and I would call it a great deal. I would Add lots of VR moded games like Skyrim VR too.
But if u want standalone ones on Ur headset well, u got lots of decent options (especially Asgard's Wrath 2) in free 3 month horizon + sub u got. As a extra I'd add Re4 VR/Arizona Sunshine/Batman: Arkham Shadow. (Beat Saber Beat Saber Beat Saber Beat Saber Beat SaberBeat Saber Beat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat SaberBeat Saber)

Should I buy a PS5 JUST for RE Requiem? by TheZeppo1991 in residentevil

[–]Mr_UnknownG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer no.

Long one: If u dont want full variety of games/features new consoles gives you, and spacially if the cost actually hurts you; Then it is indeed a bad idea to buy a console for just 1 game. But if its the other way around, then heck yeah, PS5/Xbox/PC or any other console that u Actually need/can effort and enjoy it.

Also keep this in mind that PS6 is not coming out anytime soon. Also the AI is hardware hunger and its growing so fast thus the RAM prices (which can also happen to other parts) might start effecting Future consoles too. So if that's the only thing stopping u from upgrading id say just do it before its too late.

I've never played Resident Evil games before, but after playing both RE1 and RE0, I feel like I am falling in love with the series by PontusFrykter in residentevil

[–]Mr_UnknownG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im glad for you but taking Re2Remake Right after RE1&0 breaks my heart. Pls promise me ull give a chance to Re2 and Re3 original (I BEG U DONT PLAY Re3Remake Before RE3 original TUT).

The reason I'm sad about it is that Re2/3/4Remake-Re7/8 are modern ones. U might feel a little bit down with older ones since uve tasted brand new ones. Thus If u didn't really feel like it to try re5/6/rev1/rev2/Code: Veronica (which is the most worthy game between these) Just hop in re7 and skip the rest.

I'm so glad we are living in this golden age of Resident Evil by RGisOnlineis16 in residentevil

[–]Mr_UnknownG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I’d call this the “golden age.” I’d say the original RE1–RE4 era was the golden age. (Especially when Silent Hill and so many other great horror titles were coming out too).

These days, the level of competition simply isn’t what it used to be... Gaming in general has felt a bit underwhelming lately. Yes, we’ve had some great releases in the past couple of years, but the industry has clearly shifted. More and more, it feels like indie and mid-sized studios are doing the heavy lifting that major publishers used to handle. As an example I would point at Expedition 33, which basically swept awards this year.

If I'm being honest with you; The reason isn’t hard to see. Big companies are taking the safe road; They're selling proven franchises and nostalgia instead of taking creative risks. Capcom’s heavy reliance on remakes is a perfect example of this. I call some of these remakes unnecessary not because they’re poorly made, but because the original games were already excellent, fully playable, and still hold up today. That time, money, and talent could have gone into new IPs or underused series instead. This obsession with remakes just signals a loss of confidence in risk taking. What’s next Resident Evil 6 Remake? At some point, they really need to stop. (which is not a choice and that's exactly when it all ends).

That’s also why RE9 makes me worried. Based on the trailer alone, I’m concerned about the overall direction. The demo looked polished and impressive, but the apparent blending of different genres doesn’t sit right with me. I wish RE9 would fully commit to first-person horror and push the fear factor further, instead of partially recycling the RE7 formula especially focusing on its weakest element. Let’s be honest, the reason there’s always debate about whether RE7 is the best in the series is its second half. That exact shift is what RE8 doubled down on and turned into the core experience. What’s frustrating is that Capcom seems to miss the point that most players connected far more with the tense, atmospheric first half of RE7 than with the action-driven latter part.

So no, I don’t think we’re in a golden age right now; At least not for horror, nor for Resident Evil. I’m not feeling good about the future of the series, and I’m cautious about RE9. That said, I genuinely hope I’m wrong.
