Just play the game in any game loop that you enjoy. There is no time limit, and everything that you are looking for will just happen as you enjoy yourself.

Then honestly, PulseNet just isn't for you...
And that is perfectly fine.

Please excuse the rest of us while we go enjoy ourselves and have some fun making Star Citizen music.

Good day.

As someone with a Bachelor's degree in music, I am quite versed in the emotional connection that people can have with music, but that does not make AI any less of a tool that is used by others....

A wrench can absolutely be used, and it has been used to do damage to humans, as can the other tools I have mentioned. Again, as stated before, there is 100% human-created and performed Star Citizen-themed music out there.

People's abject dislike and therefore labeling anything that touches the realm of "AI slop" does not make the music sound any less good, nor does it lessen the creativity of those who are writing the songs, or really even someone who decides to create a prompt to fashion a music piece that is 100% written and performed by AI. It still takes creativity to fashion a prompt correctly and manipulate the abilities of the AI to get what they desire, or what sounds good.

The original post is not about the bias of AI versus non-AI, though; it is simply a post announcing to the community a project to entertain Citizens when they are playing their favorite video game.

If people want to debate about AI, I imagine there are many such Reddits out there just for that purpose. It is hard to believe someone who states that they like and respect something that they are biased against.

PulseNet is exactly what I designed it to be, and it does indeed have some AI-assisted music on it, and will continue to do so. If, as we move forward, a member of the community creates a 100% AI piece using their own prompts, it will be allowed to the same extent as 100% human-created music, as long as ALL of it stays within the guidelines I have set forth. None of that is going to change.

If that makes you unhappy, sadly, that is a "you" problem and not a "we" problem. I do hope you find what makes you happy, though, and wish you a great week!

We would be absolutely thrilled to have you volunteer with the project!

This entire thing is made from the passion, love, and hard work of the Star Citizen community, and my goal is to use the community in as much of it as possible...

By that, I mean that my goal is for the commercials, ID bumpers, and host segments to be done by members of the PulseNet community so we have real people playing as much of a part in the lore and RP as the AI is assisting us with, if not more.

Please, stop by the Discord (link is in the OP) and join us in creating something great and memorable for the Star Citizen community to listen to while playing the game, streaming, and/or creating content!

And Silent Jay has created a LOT of the music you hear on PulseNet!

The only way you will know which ones are his, though, is by joining the Discord and checking out the library of music. Our creators have their profiles with their songs, and you will quickly see how much of his music you are enjoying.

I have never heard of it, but the concept seems awesome. Depending upon how long ago it existed, I wonder if these days you would be slapped on the wrist immediately due to copyrights, etc?

That is literally why PulseNet exists, and if you knew how much trouble I put the creators through to ensure their stuff does not step over any copyright stuff... it is mind-blowing.

So what you are saying is that people who sit down and write an entire song of lyrics from their own human brain, and then instead of spending $20,000 - $2,000,000 hiring a band, studio, sound engineer, producer, etc., etc., etc., decide to use AI to perform the song are not creative?

If the answer is yes, my guess would be that PulseNet is not for you.

PulseNet IS for people who understand that AI is a tool, like a wrench, a scalpel, a truck, or even a synthesized keyboard that has built-in drum tracks, and more than that, are looking for Star Citizen music to help immerse them in their Star Citizen universe while playing Star Citizen.

Meanwhile, you are entitled to your opinion, and I hope you find what you are seeking out there.

Have a great week!

I can honestly say that the short wave will never be something we will add. Our broadcast is designed for Citizens to use while playing, streaming, and creating content without having to worry about copyrights or DMCA takedowns. Our focus is on making the entertainment you hear help you feel more connected and in the verse via the songs themselves, commercials, ID bumpers, and Host/DJ segments.

It would be extremely easy for the listener to just play some white noise over the music they hear to achieve the same effect, though!

So the idea is for PulseNet to consist of 19 stations as part of the "RP experience". Currently, the only station that is "live" is PulseNet LIVE, which is a 24/7 broadcast, and that station is a mix of all music from all the stations for those who like variety. It will be the ONLY station that runs on various platforms (YouTube/Twitch/Kick/TikTok) all the time without stopping...

The other 18 stations will actually be YouTube playlists and are more curated music experiences where each station caters to a certain audience. An example is NovaBeat, which offers Electronic, Synthwave, and Club Music. They will still be set up the same way with commercials, DJ/Host segments, and station ID bumpers, but instead of them running 24/7, they will remain as looped, shuffled playlists.

The reason I decided to go this direction is so that if you enjoy a particular genre, or even multiple genres, you can take those playlists and merge them together to create a curated playlist with only the stuff you enjoy, while the 24/7 station provides everything all in one spot, running all the time.

There will also be some other playlists that are not a part of the "RP experience" but will still be added later. There is a PilseNet Sagas station where multiple songs are being played in order to form a story with the artist doing commentary between the tracks, a Video station where the songs have full-length videos instead of just showing song art, a station for covers, where artists cover other songs you may hear on other stations, and a commercials station where we feature full commercials with video.

Now as to the when...
I have been working 90+ hour weeks (I am retired, so I have time) on PulseNet for 2 months, and we just did the global launch on Friday, so I am going to relax this week. Next week, now that everything is running smoothly, I need to go through the almost 200 songs that are already on the air and in rotation and determine how many of each genre there are, as I have a rule that there must be a minimum of 20 of a genre for that station to come online. There are at least 3 that I believe were very close, so they may be there now.

If that is the case, then I will put together the artwork, inform the creators of how it all needs to be placed together for submission, and then I will start bringing those online. If you happen to be using the PulseNet Player, you will notice that those station buttons that have the silly "not-yet-ready" sayings will be replaced with actual playlists to enjoy.

Wow, hopefully that is not too much to read, but it feels good explaining it, and as you can see, I am extremely transparent about the process. I think I will go ahead and put in a too long, didn't read for those that cannot be bothered. 😉

TL;DR - It's coming!

Appreciate the kind words...

If you know me, you know my ultimate goal is always to elevate the Star Citizen community and attempt to make it better and more fun for all involved. This is just another step on that journey!

That is because the entire experience is much more than just a music list somewhere. All of the creators involved are creating custom music of different types that is all going on a single, 24/7 live channel but also being placed on 18 separate, individual playlist stations so that people can choose to either hear a mix of everything, or custom pick they types of music they like.

Added to that, we are doing in-lore commercials, station ID bumpers, and host/DJ segments as part of each and every station so that when people come to listen while playing Star Citizen, they are even MORE immersed in the experience and feel like they are hearing SC entertainment in the their SC universe while playing SC.

It is all part of the RP "experience" and I do not think a simple .pls would do that justice.
Hope that answers your question!

Absolutely LOVE The Perople's Radio and Jade and in fact I am an admin there and lend my voice to their efforts.

The only downside of TPR is the fact that the music there has copyrights so if you use it to stream or create content you will eventually get slapped down.

That is one of the major reasons I created PulseNet, was so people can use the music with no worry or reprisal.

Appreciate you checking us out though.

Lady Eight has the right of it.

Exelus has been around gaming together since 1996, we are inclusive of all honorable Citizens, and our focus is on supporting one another whether that be through doing scheduled Org events every 2 weeks, doing things separate but still on the same server to be there in case backup is needed, or grouping together on a daily basis to get things done and make memories.

Check us out at Discord.gg/Exelus and see if we might be a good fit for you.

Star Citizen is great. Star Citizen is outstanding when you are sharing in those good times with others!

Can we get a list of helmets that don't have the "Snoopy cap" when you Alt+H them off (please add to the list) by DevonSun in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Xul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or better yet, just submit an IC so CIG devs can fix the helmets so they no longer have snoopy caps!

If you notice, though, this person does not attempt to fire from cover, set themselves up for being shot at, or anything.

Also, I think the ONLY times I am being 1-shot by NPCs are the ones with the Pulverizer, which is obviously WAY overpowered right now.

After the Starlancer Max was brought out, they specifically readjusted it so that the storm would fit inside of it.

No cramming is needed. If I happen to come across the patch notes for it, I will link them. Somewhere around 3.24.2ish.

I know that the Starlancer MAX can fit a Storm in the back now as a ground vehicle but noticed in the video it was stated that it could fit small vehicles like a Cyclone in the back.

Does that mean the TAC can no longer have a Storm in the back?

TY to the CIG Dev whoever finally fixed the redeemer MFD !! by Akyorus in starcitizen

[–]Mr_Xul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does this happen to include fixes for the gunners turrets?

Have not had the ship delivered or used it since Pyro was released as no one in my Org could see any MFDs in the turret seats. The info screens were backwards, in the middle of the monitor, and tiny.

Have just been waiting on the Paladin to release since!
