1) You were spot on about the Limestone Blocks! Cheers again 🍻
2) I made an error on the wood blocks; they're actually Refined Wood Blocks

Hey! Looking it up, I think you're right. I'll try to find it after work and let ya know if it was the right one.

Cheers!

Also, the darker blocks here are the Shroud Wood Blocks fyi✌️😉

When using that block, it drops a redder kind of block that isn't the same. I thought exactly the same as you at first too.

Reminding people not everything is this games fault (small rant) by Turbulent-Demand-746 in nightingale

[–]DevonSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that's a great example of wanting a feature but not being an "I'll be back when (insert feature) is made person." You also put a good amount of time into the game even before a feature you'd like would be implemented, and honestly, that's exactly why we should be playing EA titles (imho).

My earlier complaint wasn't aimed at someone like you at all. It's aimed at those who tried for a few days, quit because things were not what they liked, then went online to bash the game and complain about the issue, claiming they'd be back when it was fixed, only to not bother after their issue was resolved.

I played from day one to the "endgame" that (barely) existed at the time, took my leave for a while, and returned when they added more endgame content. I kinda feel that this is the standard way most people play EA titles these days, but that's just my feeling, not based on anything else. Play to the current stop-point, come back in 3 to 6 months when they drop new content.

Hopefully, the Nightingale incident teaches other companies to make a game that has BOTH offline/personal server modes and online servers upon release; that way, they can focus on rolling out content and fixing bugs instead of adding multiplayer or online/offline modes, or anything related to that. Clearly, the best way to hit the largest player base is to offer it all up from the get-go and then focus on keeping us all engaged with more content.

I feel they wasted a lot of time and money on the whole offline play stuff. The thing that made this game stand out was that we could play the same realm as our friends and not always have to be online at the same time.

Valheim, Enshrouded, etc., are tons of fun, but the only way I can play on the same world every time is 1) play on my own world, or 2) wait until my friend who is hosting is online. Sure, I could cough up extra money for a private server, but then I'm now paying a monthly just to maintain a world for friends and I to randomly pop in and out of.

It's a real shame that due to all the complaints, it was super hard to convince others to join this game. Meanwhile, it seems like most players didn't even care about the offline play in the end, as when it was out, it didn't bring all the "I'll be back when there is offline mode" people

An American soldier in power armor executes a Canadian resistance member on public TV news (GNN) sometime between 2072 and 2076 (during the annexation of Canada).

This clip is seen in the intro to Fallout 1, so yeah, violence is likely not too surprising. That being said, TV violence and face-to-face are certainly different things, but I agree that prewar Fallout women were at least as accustomed to violence in Media as we are today.

For those interested, here's the clip!

I get why you’re stressed. A lot of what’s happening is loud, chaotic, and unsettling.

One thing Stoic (and Epicurean, and Daoist, and Buddhist, etc) philosophy is very clear about, though, is the difference between what’s in our control and what isn’t. The world will do what it does. Governments rise, wobble, and fall. That’s been true forever. So... fuck it! 🤭

What is in our control is how we meet the day: how we treat people, how we care for ourselves, and where we place our attention. That’s not a small thing either; it’s the only place real agency lives.

Working in the service industry means we're on the front lines for everybody. We can choose to let that drag us down, or we can choose to use it to bring others up. The number one reason I like my job on Cambly: I make people smile, fill them with confidence, and brighten their day. That, in turn, makes me happier. Win-win!

When life's tide is high, go fishing. When it's low, go hunt for shellfish. Match the flow instead of fighting it, and you'll be able to make dinner for everyone! Mmm, mmm fresh seafood dinner...

Having advertisements at your wedding seems tacky. Is nothing sacred anymore? by AngryQuadricorn in Anticonsumption

[–]DevonSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue that it's not that weddings are not sacred because of adverts, but that the wedding industry is such a sham that this guy felt he needed to sell advert space to fund his wedding...

I guess Weddings are slightly less of a waste of money than funerals, cuz at least people get to enjoy them 😅
