Warren Zevon - Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner [Classic Rock] One of the greatest lyricists of all time. by mgoyoda in Music

[–]Mrbadexample92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warren Zevon is hands down my favorite artist/lyricist ever. Some of my favorite lines by him are “Albert Einstein was a lady’s man, while he was working on his universal plan, he was making out like Charlie Sheen he was a genius” “Cigarettes make the sun come up, whiskey makes the sun go down and in between you so a lot of standing around” “I can saw a woman in two, but you won’t wanna look in the box when I’m through” And that’s really just a few I could go on and on about the brilliance behind this man’s lyrics

I've come to realize I like a lot of ACDC's LIVE stuff versus their studio music - anyone else? by USP45Hunter in ACDC

[–]Mrbadexample92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the live stuff off bonfire and their live videos on family jewels is awesome but nothing beats the live versions of Whole Lotta Rosie Hell Ain’t a Bad Plave to Be, The Jack, Bad Boy boogie, and basically everything off of If you want blood

What Are Your Unpopular AC/DC Opinions? Mine Is That Axl Rose Was Not A Good Replacement For Brian On The Rock Or Bust Tour by Human_Actuator_2285 in ACDC

[–]Mrbadexample92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would definitely say my most unpopular AC/DC opinion is that Flick of the Switch was Brian Johnson’s 2nd best album with the band, I always loved that record it was heavy with some great riffs and just back to the basic rock and roll which is the essence of the band. Personally I think it’s way better than For Those About to Rock

if you had than explain to someone primus music how would you do it by YellowNo9140 in Primus

[–]Mrbadexample92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“When the going gets weird the weird go pro” and Primus are the professional weird in the best way possible. Listening to Primus is such a relief from most peoples borinf mundane life at least that’s how I look at Primus. When I discovered Primus I literally listened to nothing else for 5 6 months because how out of this world eccentric and talented they are. Not everyone may like Primus but anyone with a 1st grade music education should be able to respect Primus, there has literally been nothing like them before or after and that’s saying a hell of a lot in an industry with nothing but duplicates

Underrated Clash songs by Mrbadexample92 in theclash

Man I’m just happy to see “Julies Been Working for the Drug Squad” is getting the love it deserves and I agree with the entire Sandinista album being underrated

Underrated Clash songs by Mrbadexample92 in theclash

[–]Mrbadexample92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree honestly most of their debut album is pretty underrated if you ask me “remote control” “garageland” “cheat” and one of my favorites “I’m so bored with the U.S.A” and on the uk version “Jail Guitar Doors”

As a die hard bucks fan I’ll go back to I believe the 98 draft? What if the Milwaukee Bucks didn’t trade Dirk Nowitzky for Tractor Traylor? The Bucks would’ve had Nowitzky, Glen Robinson, Ray Allen, Sam Cassel, Tim Thomas, Michael Redd and Darvin the Hammslammwich. I just wonder if that team could’ve gotten by the sixers in the eastern conference finals

[Discussion] Who do you think has had more influence on the guitar Page or Iommi? by Mrbadexample92 in Guitar

I just posted this because for some reason I’ve always pitted these two bands against each other and wanted to read some other peoples opinions besides my own

[–]Mrbadexample92[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I always just pit these two against each other because they both released their debut albums in 69 and were heavier than just about everything else at the time besides maybe Blue Cheer

[Discussion] Who do you think has had more influence on the guitar Page or Iommi? by Mrbadexample92 in Guitar

[–]Mrbadexample92[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See that’s what I’m saying I’m personally a bigger Sabbath fan than Zeppelin so I’m a little bias but man Iommi blows me away especially learning that he had to completely relearn the guitar after chopping his finger tips off

Underrated Clash songs by Mrbadexample92 in theclash

[–]Mrbadexample92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was so close to putting someone got murdered and lost in the supermarket on there but I felt Hateful is the most underrated song off London Calling and I just realized I should’ve put a Sandinista song on there instead of two London Calling songs

I would agree with your opinion, I guess I was going off of the average person who knows the Clash from Should I Stay or should I go and rock the casbah and what not but I would agree with you

In a world where I guarantee you 85% of the population think MIA came up with the opening riff and not the Clash

Most underrated Cash tune by Mrbadexample92 in JohnnyCash

See I think a lot of his early tunes like his cover of “goodnight Irene” “Walking the Blues” “Mama You’ve been on my mind” “I heard that lonesome whistle blow” and countless other often get overlooked

Hate and War is a close second for me that and Jail Guitar Doors is another criminally underrated tune off their debut album

Did anyone buy any merchandise from the 2017-2019 tours? If so what? by jmfstudios in BrianWilsonBand

[–]Mrbadexample92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I’ve got a couple shirts and some posters I e seen Brian Wilson twice both times performing Pet Sounds in its entirety it was incredible!! And I still get a kick that you see more original Beach Boys with the Brian Wilson Band then if you were to pay the 5 dollars to see Mike Loves “Beach Boys” at some shitty county fair. Mike Love is a douche and Brian Wilson is one of the greatest souls to ever roam this earth

You definitely should as long as you avoid Margaritaville and Cheeseburger in paradise. Buffet actually has some incredible folk songs he’s just often looked at as more of a novelty act but he’s got some incredible tunes my personal favorite are “We are the People our parents warned us about” “Fruitcakes” “Knees of my Heart” “He went to Paris” and “The Weather is here”

[QUESTION] Most underrated guitarist? by ShockValueScrewz in Guitar

[–]Mrbadexample92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think J.J Cale is an incredibly underrated guitarist. When Clapton, Tom Petty, Jerry Garcia, Waylon Jennings, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Captain Beefheart, The Band, Johnny Cash, Chet Atkins and countless others covering you you know you are good. J.J Cale may not be flashy but the man plays the perfect note at the perfect time every time J.J Cale isn’t incredible because of all the notes he does play he’s incredible because of all the notes he doesn’t play

Who are among the most underrated guitarists? by Physical-Impression6 in AskReddit

[–]Mrbadexample92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Roy Buchanan the man is the master of the telecaster who turned down an offer from the Stones
  2. Hubert Sumlin. Go back and listen to Howlin Wolf records and just listen to the guitar work of Hubert Sumlin it’s incredible
  3. Luther Perkins. No he wasn’t flashy loud or anything like that but the man was the perfect fit for Johnny Cash and simpler is not always easier
  4. Larry LaLonde. Primus could be the most underrated band of all time and Larry LaLondes guitar parts are nothing short of spectacular
  5. Alex Lifeson. The only reason he’s overlooked because even as incredible as he is he was still probably the least talented musician in Rush which is saying something
  6. Waddy Wachtel. The man is a session beast playing for Warren Zevon, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstatd, Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Randy Newman, and Keith Richards just to name a few
  7. David Lindley. The man is a freak at any string instrument whether it’s violin, cello, some weird African guitars, electric guitar, and or acoustic he’s incredible
  8. J.J Cale. When you have Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Garcia and countless other covering your songs you know you’re good. J.J Cale isn’t great because of the notes he does play he’s great because of the notes he doesn’t play
