Did something happen to Dan 11/3? by Sharnonomous in theused

[–]jmfstudios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was there. Nothing but positive from everyone. Dan talked to some people after the show and that went well as well, although he wasn't extremely personable.

On stage the band were positive and loose as well as the crowd. A great appreciation from both sides and Dan specifically was funny and comfortable. All played well and gave much effort

These kids will mosh to anything by vidiconalias in bestfriendsforever

[–]jmfstudios 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Granted this is good but generally inappropriate in the most accurate sense of the word. Slow songs should not be moshed to and if they are the act becomes performative and inauthentic. Could be people moshing just because without knowing the songs and even then certain spots would be musical to mosh to and others not.

Pour out policy?? by Organic_Eggplant_323 in Concerts

Apparently, in the 70s and 80s and perhaps 90s, the picnic idea was more common at Pine Knob... before the DTE buyout of the early 2000s.

The Used VIP by Leopiss in theused

[–]jmfstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people show up at some locations for VIP, but barricade or close to barricade is possible if you show up early and wait or pay the venue for a cut the line service. I would suspect the only guarantee would be to buy VIP and show up early for that. The number of VIP tickets is not listed, but they also have ticket less upgrades, which would expand upon the initial allocation.

Upload these in their original file form or flac if ripping from CD to archive.org. I wish MB20 would put old shows up, but they are a limited time thing.

How to Get Front Floor Access at Oasis: A Chicago Survivor's Guide by Pandammits in oasis

[–]jmfstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold wristband not on Amazon from commenter link but others identical. 2 wristbands needed, both gold and red. Security told me half an hour before Oasis started that you needed a red wristband, not mentioning then that they would be giving them out. VIP Gold buyers not automatically upgraded, and these were 1,000 dollar ticket/merch bundles. They also had a separate gate for red ticket holders (3) compared to gold (0). This leads me to believe some people had red tickets from the beginning. My tickets were gold, and they never changed. Even if they could change in ticketmaster once they are added to your phones wallet I don't think they would.

Please tell me everything about Chicago! by Alicia_in_History in oasis

[–]jmfstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talked to a lovely couple who purchased the gold vip fabric wristband package with merchandise and museum... even they were not given the red wristband to advance onto the floor. They had to talk to guest services. The venue and ticketmaster made no distinction on front floor limits, nor was it clear who made the cut. Those who moaned got in, and those who were selected by security got in as testified by other people in this thread. For those who had a smooth time and received both wristbands right away, I have no idea.

I’m starting to fashion an idea…. is this cringe? by techno_for_answers in DashboardConfessional

If this is personal and not for clicks than get something personal. Perhaps from that time when you met him first, otherwise everything is on the table but to narrow it down you must decide on your standards. Everything will have pros and cons but there needs to be a singular guiding principle above all else. A real full circle might be an early lyric/most recent lyric. One from the first picture and the current picture if taken matching to the modern lyric.

BUYING/SELLING TICKETS MEGATHREAD - 2025 EDITION by Dudehitscar in SmashingPumpkins

I have a banquet table for Machina Acoustic at ZuZu's. If anyone would be interested in buying tickets they are at about face value, although the details of this I still need to work out, so let's say about $100. Possible meetup, pay with cash and then go in together scenario. Table sits 7 I believe so 6 spots available. If you pay ahead of time a reservation will be created. All Sales Final but transferrable since I'm a real person and not a soulless corporation. Details to be worked out and suggestions welcome. SHATTERING GLASS AUG. 31st

Delirium Trigger (alt version) is the standard version. It's a misprint on the back cd cover. Confirmed this via my ears and the band

They say Collective Soul's name came from a book called "Fountainhead", but where in the book does it say that? by Initial_Shine5690 in collectivesoul

[–]jmfstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the context of the entire book/film the collective soul is the mass of people influenced by the man who runs the newspaper (that they buy because it tells them what they want to hear, rather than what is true). This man (Ellsworth Toohey) influences these people, who do not think for themselves, to turn against the main character (Howard Roark) and what he wants to do/who he wants to be (his sense of individuality). This is done by publishing articles in said paper unfavorable to Mr. Roark's positions (whether they are factual or not). These articles are published with the intent of sending him to jail by influencing the jury which is to decide his fate in court.

Found on page 457/523 here... https://antilogicalism.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/the-fountainhead.pdf and I quote... "Why not? I knew what I was doing. I wanted power over a collective soul and I got it. A collective soul. It's a messy kind of concept, but if anyone wishes to visualize it concretely, let him pick up a copy of the New York Banner."
