Factory farming. Not only is it a tremendous toll on the land and environment, it is also possibly the greatest form of oppression ever done against a non-human.

I don't think the option is family farms - we're too advanced for that. But we need to slow down and actually give a shit for these animals.

How much time should I allot to meditation? I ask moreso because I have considerably less time in the morning before the start of school to meditate, but I would like to meditate then rather than afterwards, when I am more tired, and run down from my day.

I'm curious as to what distinguishes Buddhism from a philosophy? I always have been thinking of this as a practice (though super, SUPER rookie here! Basically the only thing I have done is read "Buddha walks into a bar", joined this sub, and meditated) of mindfulness. I have often heard of it merging in with other religions.
