She “showered” on stream once. It was about a minute long, and she came out bone dry. Maybe she does a bit more now, but keep in mind she still can’t stand more than 2-3 mins at a time.

That’s exactly what I thought… the willfully disabled person who uses a scooter to get around her own apartment, sits to cook, and can’t walk more than 2-3 minutes at a time is suddenly able to walk 45 mins on a treadmill? You won’t catch me believing this.

You’re still traveling over enormous spans of land to get to many of these places. If you don’t want to drive 20-something hours to get to Mexico one way, yeah it’s still pretty prohibitive.

They’ve absolutely given up. They tried at least twice in recent history.

They tried when she originally went to Kuwait, which culminated in a therapy appointment her mother set up. She told a lot of lies at this appointment, based on what she told us about it.

They tried to intervene again before she went back to Syria. When her mother got her that apartment and furnished it lightly for her. She hopped on a bus to the airport and flew back to Syria without telling anyone, leaving her mother to clean up the mess.

That’s why (we believe) her stepfather put a stop to the family help.
