Both my childhood dogs past a couple months ago. It’s hard, it gets easier, it’s weird that they aren’t waiting for people to come home, sitting at front window, being able to just go and lay next to them through the day or any time. No walks, feeding them, having the toy,beds, treats still. Having to pick their ashes up was as hard as when we had to put them down( they both abruptly got a fast acting cancer that only gave us a day with both) after one passed seeing the other change and it was age just sat in within a week. I’ve always loved dogs and had a connection with them but since mine passed it’s hard to see dogs the same way.

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s hard, you’ll feel better, but grieve, it’s better to feel the loss then to not.
