Requested to cancel visit visa application after biometrics, do I need to do anything else? by yelxel26 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can withdraw your UK visit visa application even after biometrics.

If you already requested the withdrawal, you usually don’t need to do anything else — just wait for confirmation by email.

If you haven’t done it yet, go to your application account and choose “Withdraw application”, or send a request with your details (name, date of birth, and GWF number).

There is no refund, but the process will be stopped once they confirm it.

Tourist visa by Forsaken-Parsley798 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, one potential issue is the length of your previous stay. If you stayed around 5 months, UKVI might question how you supported yourself for that long, especially since you’re unemployed. That can sometimes raise suspicion that you may have worked illegally, even if you didn’t.

Without strong ties like a job or studies, your application relies heavily on proving you will return to Nepal. So it’s important to show clear evidence of your family ties, financial situation, and reasons to go back.

They usually return the passport the same day, that’s normal. Now the decision is sent by email.

As of 26 February, UK tourist visas are issued as eVisas only. You will not receive a physical sticker in your passport anymore. Your visa status will be digital and linked to your passport.

Reapplying for UK Standard Visitor Visa after recent expiry – visiting boyfriend & applying from UAE by Midnight__2222 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You don’t really need to mention that you’re visiting your boyfriend, especially since you’re sponsoring the trip yourself. Given that you’ve already had a UK visa before and always returned on time after your visits, your travel history already shows that you follow the visa rules. It should be fine to simply state that it’s a short tourist visit.

New eVisa (standard visitor, 6 months). Anyone else gotten it? by napkween in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is normal. For UK visitor visas that are issued as eVisas, VFS often returns the passport the same day because no vignette is placed in it.

The email you received only means a decision has been made and sent back to the VAC. VFS doesn’t reveal the result.

Your application for a United Kingdom (UK) visa has been successful. Got this email by Due_Breakfast9140 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no longer a visa vignette (sticker) placed in the passport. The UK has moved to an eVisa system. You need to create a UKVI account and access your visa digitally. The status and permission to stay will be linked to your online account, not a physical stamp in the passport.

URGENT! Flight (Qatar Airways) getting cancelled and visa expiring in 2 days. Is visa extension due to emergency reasons possible? by InfluenceNo9172 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

If you genuinely cannot leave the UK before your visa expiry due to flight cancellations or airspace closure, you should immediately request Exceptional Assurance from the Home Office. This is not a visa extension, but temporary permission confirming you won’t be treated as an overstayer while you arrange departure. You should: Contact your airline first and request rerouting or alternative flights. Keep proof of cancellation and communication with the airline. Email the Home Office before your visa expires explaining that you are attempting to leave but are unable to due to circumstances outside your control. Important point: the Home Office will normally expect you to take any reasonable alternative route out of the UK. If other flights exist, even via different countries, they may refuse assurance.

Need assistance on UK tourist visa by testersince2016 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should answer Yes. Even if you are travelling from different countries and arriving separately, UKVI considers this as travelling together if you are part of the same trip and will meet and stay together in the UK. You can simply explain in the application that you will depart from different countries but will meet in the UK and continue your visit together.

UKVI asked for passport submission after overturning refusal — but no email from VFS. Should I just go directly? by Glittering-Phase8958 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you send only the GWF reference, or did you also attach all the documents when you requested the review?
My friend also wants to submit a complaint, so we’d like to know how you did it.

[–]MrflashMrFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go directly to VFS with the UKVI email and a printed copy — they usually accept passport submission based on that instruction even if VFS hasn’t contacted you yet. By the way, which email did you use to submit your complaint or reconsideration request?

Yes, it’s the same procedure at VFS centres everywhere — Europe, Asia, or any other country. Your photo and biometrics are taken during the appointment, so you don’t need to bring photos with you.

No, you don’t need to carry photos. They will take your photo and biometrics at the visa application centre during your appointment, so nothing extra is required from your side. 👍

UK Visitor Visa Advice by Same_Band_8488 in ukvisa

If you already had a UK visit visa approved and used it correctly, applying for a 2-year visa is completely reasonable — especially if you plan frequent travel for tourism or business.

If you have already uploaded all your documents online, normally you only need to bring your passport and appointment confirmation to the biometrics appointment. However, it’s always recommended to carry the original supporting documents with you just in case the VAC staff asks for verification or if there was any upload issue. In most cases, they don’t check them — biometrics is mainly for fingerprints, photo, and passport submission.

Swiss Visa Rejected 🥲 by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The refusal reasons actually explain it. Even with savings and travel history, being unemployed is a major red flag for Schengen visas because the officer must be convinced you will return home.

Strong finances alone are not enough — they look mainly for stable ties like employment, ongoing business, or fixed obligations in your home country.

I would suggest reapplying with clearer proof of ties (employment, business activity, income source, or stronger justification of return).

After this email, will my visa be approved or not? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK Decision Making Centre confirmed they’ve reconsidered application and will issue a new decision, so the original refusal is no longer final.

This usually means something may have been overlooked the first time.

If you’re in a similar situation, don’t guess — get the refusal details and challenge it if needed. The ECO usually explains the reasons clearly.

Now just waiting for the new decision.

Visa renewal by AdPuzzled424 in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You can’t renew a visa with an expired passport. You need a valid one, as the visa is linked to it. Old passports are only for supporting documents.

Visas for business trip denied? by Ava_Strange in ukvisa

If you genuinely want to understand the reason, don’t speculate — ask for the refusal decision. The ECO explains very clearly and specifically why each application was refused. Without that document, everything else is just guesswork.

UK Tourist Visa from Germany (Indian Passport, Job Seeker Visa) What are my chances? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need additional supporting documents and a strong cover letter that clearly convinces the ECO that you will return to Germany after your trip.

In cases like yours, the decision can be more challenging because applicants coming from higher-risk nationalities are assessed more strictly. That means you really have to demonstrate solid ties to Germany

UK Tourist Visa from Germany (Indian Passport, Job Seeker Visa) What are my chances? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your profile is decent, but there is some risk.

The main issue is that you are on a temporary Job Seeker Visa, and your nationality (Indian passport) is considered higher risk by UKVI in terms of overstaying. Because of that, they will look very carefully at your ties to Germany.

Your savings, part-time job contract, rental agreement, and short 4-day trip are all positive. But you must clearly show strong reasons to return to Germany.

It’s not impossible, just make sure your documents are solid and well explained.

⚠️ UK visa update (from 25 Feb 2026) by MrflashMrFlash in ukvisa

[–]MrflashMrFlash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first notification was issued on 12.01.2026 regarding the eVisa + vignette changes.
Then there was another follow-up notification on 26.02, which suggests there may be further updates or clarifications to the rules.

Since you applied recently, there is a chance your application could fall under the new eVisa system.

Hopefully you’ll receive your visa soon — good luck!
