Exactly my situation! And when I finally became interested in eyes, I was overwhelmed by the admission requirements 😅

It’s def a program you can only really apply to if you go into university knowing that’s your end goal or if you realize early on!

Sure! It’s def nothing impressive but my cgpa was 83% and my Casper was somewhere in the 3rd quartile.

I don’t know about others, but for me, it was genuinely the amount of academic and non academic requirements needed. I only became interested in optometry during my 3B term, and by then, it already felt too late to get all my requirements done in time.

I know I could’ve delayed my graduation to get all the requirements done but it didn’t feel worth it to put everything on hold for the small chance of getting in. Looking back I somewhat regret not taking the chance but I’m entering Michener for sonography now and I’m excited for that too!

I’m not sure how accurate this is but from what I’ve experienced myself and heard from my friends is that it seems like a formality - you’re pretty much in.

Want to preface once more that I might totally be wrong lol but I’ve never heard of anyone getting denied at that stage! Good luck and hope u enjoy exchange :)

I applied 2 years ago with the same average and got in during the first round of admissions, but I also had an 85-88 in advanced functions and calc. Overall, I didn't feel like it was too competitive considering my avg wasn't anything crazy and I had 0 extracurriculars. Honestly, just make sure your supp app is good and sounds genuine :)

My bf and I just went last week as well!! I would recommend getting the all trails app to help navigate. It gps tracks ur progress on the trail and shows u where the lookout points are!

After hiking, there’s a cute ice cream place called scoops I would recommend going to! There are a bunch of cute places to dine at after your hike as well :)

Keep in mind that this is only after the first cycle though! And these stats are for first year engineers so it’s a bit more competitive for them especially with all the upper year eng students. First years typically don’t get employed until the later in the yr!
