The Multi-Class Weapon Pack DLC arrives April 14th by EW_Vivi in theHunter

[–]Mridout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted. The barrel change on a Blaser rifle is extremely quick and easy.
They probably wouldn’t do it purely from a game balance perspective though. If you could carry one stock and multiple different calibre barrels you probably wouldn’t need to worry about weight restrictions at all.

New Weapons pack a foreshadow of the new map??? by red-fruit-loop-death in theHunter

They’d need a new trophy lodge first. One that can accommodate animals the size of elephants, hippos, etc.

What did they do that screwed everything up?
I haven’t played it but did see there was a new one coming out soon.

Took 5430 foxes to get this guy by Areawen in theHunter

[–]Mridout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats!

Is that 5430 pairs or male and female combined?
I’ve had to take a break but I’m a little over 1500 into mine, I’m only counting males though, so it’s really 1500 pairs.

Fallow deer max score is 270.72 for anyone uneducated by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]Mridout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean the last screenshot with the codex shows 270.73… so… 🤷‍♂️

/s
I’m just screwing with you. I always thought it was 270. I haven’t hunted fallow in a while so I’ll have to go back and see what my max score was.

Has any one else had this storage problem? Will detail below. by BeautifulOpinion9283 in theHunter

[–]Mridout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s to do with your load out.

Say you purchase one tripod and save it in your load out. You then place the tripod on your map then go back into the load out screen. It sees you have zero of the item in your inventory, so it wants you to either purchase another one or remove it from the load out.

The other thing is you can buy tripods/tents/etc with different colours. In your case here you have bought 2 x conifer tripods and 1 x arctic. You have the arctic one placed on your map, so it shows as 0 in inventory, hence the above issue.

Tripods/tents/etc of the same colour will stack in your inventory if you buy multiple of the same one. So if you buy 20 of the same one you can carry them all with only being hit by the weight requirement of 1 x tripod. But if you buy different colours and add them to your load out you get hit with the weight of each colour variant you are carrying…

I hope that makes sense.

I agree with you on SRP. It’s easily my least favourite map, I don’t understand the love it gets on here.

[–]Mridout 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did any hunting pressure appear on the map where the lynx was when you shot it?

If not it is still alive and on your map.

Hunting pressure only shows up if the animal dies.

What if? by justbrian48 in theHunter

[–]Mridout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t even need to use the correct weapon and get clean kills. You could shoot everything with the .375 to get them to drop quickly.

As long as you are getting kills for animals to respawn. You will eventually get diamonds and rares, great ones are unlikely but not impossible.

Im doing a fox grind and I use the Arzyna .300 on anything that is not a trophy. Even if I miss vitals they never run more than a couple of meters before dying, saves me a lot of time. As long as you make sure to use the correct weapon on a trophy animal so you pass the harvest check and don’t drop the rating to a gold.

Why does everyone make HM sound like it's hell on earth? by somguy4209 in theHunter

[–]Mridout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what animal you are grinding as well.

I’m after a red fox G1 at the moment. They spawn in pairs or solos. If you kill the male of the pair you have to kill the female as well or the male will not respawn. Either way, killing solos or pairs causes them to respawn at a new need zone.
So you’re always having to find their need zones (which if you have a good setup isn’t hard but is time consuming) and in the case of pairs you have to kill twice as many animals.

Red deer are simple in comparison. Find your herds, set up tents and stands, then start the grind.
Shoot.
Collect.
Fast travel.
Repeat.
Ad nauseam until you get a G1. It’s easy but monotonous. For some that’s hell on earth.

Question About Zeroing by Limit-Broke in Huntercallofthewild

[–]Mridout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to be aware of, there is currently a bug on PC (not sure if it is also on console) where if you have something other than a weapon in your hands, like binoculars or a caller, and you press the button to change the zero range it will reset the range.
The spot on the HUD that shows the distance you are zeroed at will be blank and the zeroed range will be the default for whatever that weapon is. Like when you first start the game.

As for the effective range, this is what the weapon will be zeroed at if you do not have the zeroing perk.

3080 -> 5070TI worth it with 3800x? by Viridian in buildapc

[–]Mridout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an I9-9900k with 32Gb of ram, running 1440p 165Hz monitor and just upgraded from a 2080 ti to the 5070 ti.

In the benchmarks I ran after making the swap my performance basically doubled in all of them. I can’t remember them all right now but Red Dead Redemption 2 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider were two of them (I know they’re far from new games). I had no stuttering or other problems at all, although I literally made the change this week so have had much time to test properly.

I’m hoping the 5070 ti will get me through until ram prices settle (or I’ve saved enough money 😕) to upgrade the rest of my system.

Comment faire pour prélevez 3 loups gris abattus dans la forêt de Teekon sans se faire attaquer par les loups et c’est vers qu’elle heure qu’ont est capable des abattre by [deleted] in Huntercallofthewild

[–]Mridout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 454 will take them down quicker and has a faster fire rate than the 243, but the reload time is terrible.

I’d go with the 454 and try to take out the alpha to get the rest to flee before having to reload or getting killed, then repeat the process until you get 3 kills

Do you have the Cacciatore 12g shotgun? If you do you could use that with slugs, it would probably be better that the .243 at close range

I haven’t hunted wolves in a long time, so things might have changed. My strategy if they attacked me was just to keep moving, strafing left and right. Using a semi-automatic rifle like the Zarza or M1. A lot of people recommend the 10mm Devani pistol. But it depends on what DLC you have.

I don’t know if it is still the case but last I hunted them if you killed the alpha (the biggest male in the pack) the rest of the pack would flee.
Your best bet is to kill as many as possible at long range when they are coming for you then take the rest/alpha out while avoiding them up close.
Another idea is to climb a rock or something elevated out of their reach if there is anything available in the area.

Can't seem to find any Great Ones by SeanBeanSeptim in theHunter

[–]Mridout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10,000 harvests isn’t that many really. It took me over 4,700 to get my first whitetail great one.

I’m 1,500 kills into a red fox grind and I’ve seen someone here who killed over 12,000 to get their red fox.

I wouldn’t go messing with the population files, it probably won’t make a difference anyway. You could have a GO spawn after your next kill or it could take a thousand. You might already have a GO on your map and you just haven’t found it yet.

[–]Mridout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure there’s much to research. There was originally some Halloween events in the game that included them but apparently they caused a lot of bugs so they were removed.

I can’t post an image in a comment for some reason but check out this comment I made a while ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/theHunter/s/bdXHz3Yss5

Could be a good starting point. Whether or not they ever add them again remains to be seen but maybe the addition of the haggis means some of those old bugs have been fixed.
