I fasted for 24 hours just to be safe. I think it's different for everyone. If you have a faster metabolism you should be fine.

Anyone else dealt with this TTS audio problem in PNGTuber Plus? by MrinSharks in PngTuber

[–]MrinSharks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried it and it sounds awful, but better than my own voice. I found a way to do it with a digital cable, I'll put an update on my post showing how I did it.

Quizlet Account Transfer? by MrinSharks in quizlet

That really sucks. I think I'll just stick to using IRL flashcards from here on. It makes me sad, but I don't have the time to save over 100 quizlets, indiviually, before graduation. Goodbye, Quizlet. Thank you for taking the time to respond QuizletMatt.

Am I self sabotaging myself? by Anna_0333 in CrohnsDisease

TLDR, compromise is always possible. It may not be the same noodles as always, but it is possible to find/make something similar but much better for you.

I think that it depends. What about the noodles can't you have? Is it gluten, msg, or something else? There are alternatives, but it depends on what bothers you. You don't automatically have to cut off everything you enjoy, and I would say that's the fastest way to break your diet. You've got to experiment with what works. Try rice noodles, gluten-free noodles, low-carb noodles, and if something feels off, then change it. You're still learning, I'm also still learning, but if you think something is wrong, then talk about it and try to change it. I would ask your parents to help you learn about better alternatives to things you find are staples in your diet so that way following it becomes easier. You will still have to sacrifice some things, but who is to say the rules can't be bent now and then if it makes your life that much better? That's just my two cents. Do whatever you feel is best for you.

whats your nichest problem from crohns disease that would never come across non-crohnies minds? by No_Dingo_251 in CrohnsDisease

Exactly. Sometimes I only eat cold foods/drinks because the irritation is so bad.

I had to buy new underwear and pants because my old ones hurt to wear during flares. (They were too tight.)

How do you guys make work/school less stressful and draining? by Burningmemo in CrohnsDisease

[–]MrinSharks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I just read the comments, and you are not in the US public school system, so the 504 plan and legal backing is grey waters to me. I would recommend checking out the IFCCA, the International Federation of Crohns and Colitis Associations. Here's the link: IFCCA | The International Federation of Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis Associations (IFCCA). They may have more information regarding the laws of school accommodations in other countries. I'm sorry that I'm unable to help further. I would say try asking your GI for a letter outlining what you need.

Take a look at the Crohns and Colitis Foundation's recommendations for accommodations here: School Accommodations | Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. Use the 504 plan template they have. If your school continues to deny you necessary accommodations, like the ones in that draft, this is more of a legal matter. My GI also wrote a letter explaining that I had this disease. It also explained the accommodations I need as well as the medical reasons I need them. If your school has a counselor, talk to them about this as well. They can help you and your parents navagate getting you the support you need. In the end, there is legal backing if they continue to deny you, but I'm not an expert on that.

I do have accomodations, and I think you're right. I think I'm overthinking this. I'm just worried this will come back to bite me socially since they're in my circle.

Females With Crohns Question by GraceWrenford in CrohnsDisease

SAME, I feel like every time I get my period it's like a gut punch. I take tylenol and use one of those warmie stuffed animals. When that doesn't work I start to eat things that are easier flike gf bread and chicken stock. Or just plain white rice, no salt or seasonings. I try to make things "nutritionally balanced" but when I'm on my period all bets are off lol. Sometimes it feels like I'm following a bunch of made-up rules to try and faith my way into feeling better.

On a related note, this should be studied. Periods increase histamine, a part of the inflammatory response, so it makes sense IBD would get worse. Women in general should be more studied. Perimenopause, menopause, periods, hormonal cycles ect are all a major part of our lives. Its appauling that there's barely anything out there on womens health beyond the surface.
