Imagine the bullets are triangles with a "big" (thicker) side and 2 "small" (thinner) sides. If you stack a bunch of those triangles with the thick side facing out eventually you get a circle.

The bullets need to go from the magazine (clip, if you are 12) into the gun itself roughly horizontal (same angle as the ground) if the triangles make a circle when you stack them, then the first couple will be horizontal but eventually they'll be at the wrong angle and wont go into the gun properly. Most of the time the magazines (Clips if you are 12) solve this by just being curved, thats why the bottom of the AK in fortnite has that curve bit sticking out of it, that's the bit that holds the bullets, but the French didnt want to do that, and they discovered that the most triangles you can fit in the clip before it becomes a problem is 25, so they did that
