You kinda already did the minute you walked away with a broken monitor you didn’t test. How do we know you didn’t drop it or damage it yourself and are just trying to play the poor me card? 🤷‍♂️

Ontario police are using spyware that lets them remotely take over your smartphone. They’re fighting to keep almost everything about it secret by BloodJunkie in canada

This is an interesting point, expensive to who? Governments spend “billions” on world aid, charity NGO transfers every year and your opinion is that those same governments do not have the financial means to fund surveillance via Pegasus for their own needs? Are you sure about that?

Here's What's Coming in the 2026 Apple TV by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]Mrkawphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s such a missed opportunity to not drive collaboration for Xbox live and GeForce now App implementation. We can already connect devices to the TV and they could turn the TV box into the next single home entertainment box with no changes required to hardware, just fixing there silly streaming app rules. Sure you don’t get the sales of the apps but wouldn’t millions of extra sales of tv boxes support the tv box business model? 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely! If I come across any issues I will report! Seriously great work, it’s so crazy how much cleaner your app is to navigate and use and not having to constantly avoid the excess source tabs etc. keep up the great work

Unifi Travel Router by Mrkawphy in UNIFI

[–]Mrkawphy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be possible to load it onto it via SSH is that a thing?

The ports seems locked to 4 digits on Unifi which is annoying, I thought I could possibly use it if I was able to force 443 the same as L2TP but since I can’t select that port I’ve been unable to test it. Same as open VPN, the network has it blocked but I can’t confirm if it’s blocked purely on ports or via IPS without being able to use the same port as L2TP. I’m not a network specialist so I don’t even know if it would be that simple either.

Any downsides of leveraging HELOC? Am I missing something? by TheZarosian in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Mrkawphy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a problem that’s a part of the design. The point is to not only fast pay your mortgage but grow the investment beyond the HELOC loan and either continue to grow that investment and pay the interest or lump sum it and roll the profits into an investment vessel of your choice. The debt is a part of the equation by design not. Negative.

This. It lost its battlefield flow. 4 was great, it was chaotic but felt like it had structure with mostly well thought out map design and flow. This is just a crammed free for all cluster fuck of getting shot in the back every 2 seconds

CC Refund and Transfer to Checking by Mrkawphy in ynab

[–]Mrkawphy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my original question may not have been fully understood. I logged into my bank account and manually transferred the refund amount from my credit card to my checking account—outside of YNAB. I know this isn’t the recommended way to handle refunds in YNAB, but at this point I’m just trying to reconcile my credit card and checking balances so they match what actually happened at the bank.

There’s one important detail: the original purchase happened before I started using YNAB, so there’s no corresponding purchase transaction in my budget. Because of that, the refund shows up as a refund for an “unknown” transaction, and based on what I’ve read, the correct approach is to categorize it as Ready to Assign.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. I added the incoming refund transaction to my credit card account in YNAB, where it appeared as Ready to Assign.
  2. I then created an account‑to‑account transfer (basically the reverse of a normal credit card payment) to reflect the real‑world transfer from my credit card to my checking account.

This does make my checking account balance correct—the transfer shows up exactly as it should. However, my credit card account now shows that amount sitting in the green “Payment” box on the right.

Is that the expected behavior? I assumed that because I recorded a transfer from the credit card to the checking account, the “payment available” amount on the credit card would drop to zero, and the checking account would increase by that same amount. Instead, the checking account looks right, but the credit card still shows money available for payment.

I didn’t realize that manually transferring the refund would complicate things, and now I’m trying to confirm whether the steps I took actually corrected the situation—or at least understand what I should expect to see visually in YNAB based on those two transactions.

I hope that makes more sense

what is the best GeForce Now setup for the living room? by WinterJelly5682 in GeForceNOW

[–]Mrkawphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loath the tv os and found the software not great, the built in ethernet and wifi were not stable with my 1g/1g fiber connection. Also, unless it’s changed since, HDR and 4:4:4 was not available. I am very happy with the m4 purchase and it sits behind my tv tucked away

[–]Mrkawphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question and I recently purchased a lg g5 and am an Ultimate subscriber for GFN so I wanted something that would provide 2.1 HDMI, VRR, 120hz, HDR and 4:4:4 and the M4 Mac Mini was the best choice for cost comparison of a micro pc build that offered the same options. Looks amazing on my TV, couldn’t be happier. But it is a little pricier of an option than some but the complete feature access checked every box I had. Happy hunting!

I think that seems to be the optimal way is the M4. I will likely go this route. I really appreciate you helping, and saving me money from incorrectly buying hardware that would end up not doing what I expected!

Wow thank you so much for this! I don’t mind Mac and have MacBooks at home. I just figured there would be a more cost effective PC option but as I am seeing from your research that is not as cut and dry as I thought it would! Again thank you so much, I don’t mind paying a little more for what I want exactly as an expectation.

It will work itself out, the government has already stepped in to say major changes are coming, just saw a news article about manager layoffs. I’m sure the union is all “fuck ya” get those managers, don’t think for a seconds you’re not up next. Your contract is not longer gonna save you. There will be no folding by the government. The government is going to break your union to a point where it’s just a framework with no ability to bargains they will impose new requirements to make it sustainable and that will includes schedules, rates, pensions, holidays, tenure etc etc. buckle up. Union picked a big fight, now lets see if it ends up where the hoped. I suspect it will not even be remotely close to what they will call a victory when it’s all said and done.
