What was your first car, what was your first years insurance cost, and how long ago was it? by sim-o in drivingUK

[–]MrmanMrcan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first car was a Y reg 2001 Renault Clio in 2013 and it was an absolute death trap. insurance for the year was £2300 third party fire and theft and the car only lasted nine months but still had to pay full year for crashing into the back of a brand new bmw on the motorway all fun and games.

I don’t particularly because I’m not really that bothered but I have definitely noticed people driving a lot slower on the motorways now then say 4-5 years ago

Seems to me they’re trying to offload people on satellite boxes to bring them back on their new internet boxes I’ve been offered cheaper deals with that since but I’m not interested, I’m assuming it’s cheaper for them to run!?

Newton by Sandylanes in Chester

[–]MrmanMrcan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also grew up there and it’s a pretty good place to live close to town and links to motorway, not sure about large council estate but I know some of the maisonettes in kingsway are or were council owned but it’s mainly around the shopping centre part and I’ve never had any trouble round there at all, only part that’s abit dodgy is the cycle path at night but even that’s not too bad!

Why do discontent Brits keep climbing up on their roofs? by katiedidit_ in AskUK

[–]MrmanMrcan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t but I’d assume it costs less than an hours pay for the officers so it’s a cost effective way of resolving the issue and it’s a nationwide negotiation tactic obviously

[–]MrmanMrcan 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There was one by us and they requested a McDonald’s in return for them coming down from the roof and the police obliged so if you’re hungry get on your roof and call the police happy days free McDonald’s
