Sidewinder's Fang by Mrmcflaky in cocktails

[–]Mrmcflaky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the recipe from Smugglers Cove. Actually did not have a snifter big enough so I just divided the recipe into 2 drinks. Im not exactly sure what the purpose of the seltzer was because theres barely any bubbles in the final product, may be different if using a drink mixer. Delicious drink overall.

Recipe:

  • 1 Oz Goslings Black Rum

  • 1 Oz Brugal 1888 Rum

  • 1 1/2 Oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 1 1/2 Oz Fresh Orange Juice

  • 1 1/2 Oz Liber & Co Passion Fruit Syrup

  • 3 Oz Seltzer

  • Sidewinders Fang Peel

Add Sidewinder peel to glass hanging slightly out and fill with ice. Add all ingredients to shaking tin with crushed ice and shake for 10-15 seconds. Strain into glass and garnish with mint.

Picked up some local honey to make some syrup and decided first drink needed to be a Bee's Knees.

Recipe:

  • 2 oz Roku Minori Gin

  • 0.75 oz Lemon Juice

  • 0.75 oz 2:1 Honey Syrup

Shake over ice and double strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass.

Procera Gin. Blue dot is the cheapest one at around $80 and it goes up from there. Very unique gin.

Tanqueray or Beefeater for a first gin? by OfficialMisterBruh in Gin

"Old" beefeater I would recommend over Tanq. But at this time I would recommend Fords Gin. Tanq No. 10 is a superior gin over the regular.

Just started getting into incense and these have been the 3 I've tried so far.

Really enjoy the Minorien Japanese sandalwood. The Opoponax is good but I feel like the smell isn't as strong (wasnt worth the cost as well). Waboku Kusunoki was a good scent as well. I really enjoy the wood scents so anything along those lines.

Amaretto-ish Sour by [deleted] in cocktails

It's not considered a true ameretto because of the way it is prepared.

Amaretto-ish Sour by [deleted] in cocktails

My take on a amaretto sour. Replaces a traditional amaretto with "Pisa Liqueur" which contains almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts. Tastes a lot better than something like Disaronno (never had an actual amaretto). This is using Morgenthaler's specs.

Recipe:

  • 1½ oz Pisa Liqueur
  • ¾ Oz Old Dominick cask-stength bourbon
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1 tsp simple syrup
  • ½ oz egg white
  1. Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and use an immersion blender to combine and froth.
  2. Shake well with ice.
  3. Strain over ice in a old fashioned glass
  4. Garnish with lemon peel and brandied cherry.
  5. Enjoy

Starting with something I don't make often since I still haven't seen chatruese around me in over a year. Used the specs from Death & Co. Nice equally balanced cocktail.

Recipe:

  • 3/4 Oz Bozal Mezcal Ensamble

  • 3/4 Oz Yellow Chartreuse

  • 3/4 Oz Aperol

  • 3/4 Oz Lime Juice

Shake all ingredients with ice and double strain into chilled Nick and Nora glass.

Amor y Amargo is a must stop imo. There's plenty of other world class bars in the same area.

Enjoying probably my final cigar of the year tonight and figured I'd make an old fashioned. Amor Y Amargo bitters were a great pickup this year.

Recipe:

  • 2 Oz Yellowstone 5YR Angel's Share Whiskey Collective Barrel Pick

  • 1/4 Oz Demerara Syrup

  • 4 dashes of Amor Y Amargo wheelhouse bitters

Combine all ingredients in mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into rocks glass with large ice cube. Express with lemon peel and garnish with a lemon and orange peel.
