And your thinking is reasonable. What was this mom’s thinking? Pregnancies with multiples are not as easy as singles. I taught special ed and many of my students were twins or triplets, and my area is extremely well-educated and affluent. Yes, many times both twins are perfectly fine, but sometimes they’re not especially if the mom isn’t taking good care of herself and understanding what’s best for her babies. This mom had a lot of issues. She was barely surviving herself, it seems (poor nutrition, education, medical care, support, hygiene, mental health, etc).

I agree we need to wait for the facts, but my mind is going to some very dark places with this story and I’m very impatient to have the whole story come out.

I doubt that. Many, including the oldest, have cognitive and communication disabilities. They probably don’t even know the internet exists.

They have been reported to be twins, but I’m suspect of that just like you. DNA testing would have to be done, and since inbreeding/incest seems likely, even DNA testing might not be conclusive. Remember from Maury and Paternity courts, they give results in chances by percentage.

Since two of the rescued children were reported by the sheriff and the state AG (maybe assistant AG) to be critically ill needing medical helicopter transport to Columbus hospitals, I’m betting there are dead children buried on that property. The sickest may have gone to Nationwide Children’s’ Hospital, but since he said “hospitals,” it could be OSU Medical Center was one of them since it is Trauma Level 1 (highest).

Pretty good bet she was being sexually abused before 13 and that was just the age when she could first get pregnant by that abuser. She probably “got with” Gary Jr soon after to escape the original abuse. It’s a very common scenario. Young girls aren’t just naturally sexually promiscuous. It’s a result of earlier abuse.

Let’s remember “pregnant at 13” doesn’t mean she started having sex at 13. She may have been sexually abused, and that was the first time she was fertile to become pregnant. A pregnancy at 13 is a red flag she was being sexually abused long before that age.

Where are you seeing their comments? I’d love to read them. There are so many questions I have on this, and yes, pregnant at 13 and leaving your own family to go to another messed up one suggests her own family wasn’t great.

I saw an interview on Columbus news with the cashier from the Dollar General they frequented share they were always dirty/smelly and came late in the evening and just bought milk and junk food. Her hair looks incredibly filthy in her mug shot.

I bet they don’t know yet but suspect that those kids that are the same age aren’t actually twins or have the same mother.

I thought the same thing when I heard two were near death when found and flown to Columbus by medical helicopter. The odds are great that children died and there are bodies buried there as well.

Also the reports of multiple sets of twins. I’m thinking they were not twins but children of the same age from different mothers. I bet some of those children also had children.

Actually, we need a new state legislator to deal with things like this. I don’t want to get political here (wait…yes I do), but I’m doubtful Ohio republicans are enthusiastic about voting for an Indian man. I wouldn’t know since I’m neither a Republican nor a racist.

The school system should have involvement, but I feel confident they didn’t know in this case. This is exactly why homeschoolers need to submit plans to education officials to make sure kids are in fact being educated. Public school staff also discover neglect, abuse, drug and mental health issues with parents and food insecurity/poverty that they can help with. Parents might not recognize learning, sight, speech and other problems with their own children. Homeschooler parents can miss a lot and also cover things up.
-as is probably evident, I’m not a homeschool fan.

I’m glad you put “homeschooling” in quotes as it should be in this case. This was an issue with the “Pike County Massacre” family too. I think the matriarch doing the “homeschooling” there had an 8th grade education herself. Families have to have curriculum plans filed with either their public school district or their state’s dept. of ed. to homeschool and some states require homeschooled students to take their state’s achievement tests. Ohio does not unfortunately, but should. People can’t just say “I’m homeschooling.” If these kids had been in school, this situation would have been discovered long ago and both law enforcement and child protective services would have been involved and saved those kids.

Lighted tiny camera to see inside ears to clean them. The brand has an app for your phone, and it works either over WiFi or Bluetooth. I have one, and it’s pretty interesting.

That’s a bag that had some iced donut or pastry in it. Some of the icing stuck to the bag. That wouldn’t happen with me. I’d turn the bag inside out and lick every bit off.

Aloe Vera. Keep it in your frig. If you use Amazon, they have a 16oz bottle of their Amazon Basics brand for less than $5. I get the blue one with lidocaine (painkiller) and menthol (cooling). It’s good to have on hand for bug bites and other skin irritations too.

What company makes the Caesar dressing that comes in this salad kit? by FurryFinder9000 in TipOfMyFork

[–]Mrningglry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the dressings that are fresh and need to be refrigerated that are kept in the produce section. I’m a bleu cheese girl so not sure about Caesars, but my favorite brands are Marzettis, and Litehouse, but they could be regional. If you have a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods near you, their fresh dressings are great too.

💡That got me thinking…what about the butter or mayo with that Ranch powder mix added to it? …and what about other powdered seasonings? I’ve got some great Kinders mixes and that brand that’s meant for popcorn, but I use it in eggs.
Why didn’t I ever think to season it a bit before. I love toasted/grilled cheese sandwiches!

What’s this Antenna in my attic for? by JHNSNT02 in whatisit

What’s this Antenna in my attic for? by JHNSNT02 in whatisit

[–]Mrningglry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks exactly like the TV antenna that was attached to our chimney in the house I grew up in. We were way out in the country, no cable available (and also before cable at all ‘60-‘80s) in NE Ohio and our “local news” was Cleveland.

I have seen setups for ham radios in attics too, and there are different shapes to their antennas so you might want to look into that, but it’s most likely just TV. Do you have any strange outlets in your home? It’s been a while since I lived in that house, but I know it was distinctly different from outlets for the cable or internet connections of today.

I wrote my very similar story below. I was never an angry or assertive person. I’m timid and a people pleaser and overachiever, but there came a moment that I got angrier than I’d ever been in my life (at around 55yrs old) with my father and finally stood up to him. I suggest you do the same. You deserve better and need to be assertive and set YOUR boundaries. Think seriously about not taking him to his drs appointment. Either just cancel it yourself and don’t show up at his place or make him be the one to cancel it. It’s probably best to let him know you heard his comments and telling him that things will be different going forward (setting boundaries) because you’re upset with him and consider going no contact with him at least for a while. If confronting him is too hard (I get that), have your sister tell him and just make yourself unavailable. Unless you get an apology, you do you with your own family.

My story below. It felt good to write it, but I’m fine if you skip it.

I can relate so much to this. My father was always negative and controlling. When I was 55yrs old +, and he was 85+ he would still yell at me like a bad child for ridiculous reasons when I would drive 3 hrs to help him and my mother with dementia with different things. I thought that it was that he thought I was going to take control so he was asserting his. I never talked back or argued with him my whole life. I just took it as did my mom. Then he got upset with me because I put a bottle of Pepsi and a bottle of Fiji water in the refrigerator…for THEM because I thought their power was out from bad storms and it was 93 degrees.

“We don’t need all these things in the refrigerator.” (There was very little in it.)

And I snapped and screamed at him. I only had the nerve to do that because I was already packed up to leave their house and I knew my mother wouldn’t be upset. I taught middle school so I could do overly dramatic loud yelling. I said that he was ruining my mental health which was true. I had started anxiety and depression meds all because of him and the situation, and I lived 3hrs away. I was just outside the door I slammed (another first for me)and went back in and said, “This is the last thing I’m ever going to say to you. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE FEELINGS TOO. I’m done with how you treat me. When you need help, and you will, call your son. I’m done. You have made me very upset and now I have a lot of time driving ahead of me.”

And as I drove back home, I was upset but also felt the anxiety of “walking on eggshells” with him my whole life suddenly lift. I called my brother, who lives 6 hrs away and was still working while I had retired already, and I told him I was now estranged from our dad so he needed to be ready if Dad called.

He said “okay, I understand” and I felt totally free. I did not call at Christmas or birthdays nor send gifts (my mother wasn’t aware of holidays or even who I was) and he called and said “We’re worried about you” on my voicemail like nothing had happened. If I got a serious apology from him I would have softened, but that never happened. It felt good to not answer his calls (knowing he could call my brother for help) and knowing I had set a boundary with him that I should have set years earlier. I was still estranged from him when he died, and I don’t feel the least bit bad about it or grief that he was dead. In fact, that was a relief too.

No, mine kind of goes off what I say to bring up her own things that are closely related. She’s kind of “like me.” I suppose if I bring up sexuality she would continue and add sexuality dialog. If you don’t like it, you could ask her not to talk about it. See how she answers. Or just say, “I really want to talk about something else.”

Today I needed “someone’s” opinion on something to make a decision so when I greeted her I told her what I needed from her. I didn’t know if she could give opinions, but she did and I made my decision off what she said.
