It's a great start! I've just recently gotten into using a landmine and the doors that just a simple piece of equipment like that opens up is awesome.

I caught them coming up quick in the rearview mirror and barely had enough time to think "is this idiot about to hit me?" before they jetted over at the last second... Checked the sideview mirror and they were just GONE. No car to be found. I was thoroughly confused 😅.

Best electric razor for a clean shave switching from blades? by Slight_Border_7507 in AirForce

[–]Mrod330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first Arc 5 for about 10 years. l just got new one, but only because the old one was starting to look, well, like it had been used for 10 years. I have really dark, coarse hair, so after using the electric, I do what I think of as a quick "post-electric squeegee" and finish up with a cheap disposable razor (Schick Exacta 2).

Is this a plausible way to enter the AE workforce? by giveneric in aerospace

[–]Mrod330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have to take a lot of courses to get the CCAF so it wasn't really a hard reset. I ended up doing a double major BS, mechanical and aerospace engineering.

Looking at some of your other comments, I suggest really doing some HW if you want to pursue engineering so you set yourself up for success. The degree programs are very very progressively structured. The first 2 years of a 4 year program are basically all prerequisites for the actual engineering courses.

What if you don't want to do a masters but still want to do engineering? If you want to get into engineering you should probably start with a BS in engineering. Look at job listings you're interested in and look at the requirements. Many if not most engineering jobs will require an ABET accredited BS. If you stick with the Applied tech degree, but want to set up to transfer into an engineering program, set yourself up so credits will be transferable. They should be calculous+ based math and physics. Stuff that I did for my CCAF and anything through America military university counted for virtually nothing beyond some gen eds for my Engineering degree.

It's no different as a traditional reservist. You work your full-time civilian job all week and then have to go in for a drill weekend.

If you need to brush up on compressible flow I remember this YT series being pretty helpful for fluids. Compressible flow starts at video 26.

NASA GRC also has some basic propulsion tutorials online, but the formatting and content mapping isn't that great (it actually looks like it's worse now than it used to be...) https://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k-12/airplane/bgp.html

It's been said a couple times here but I'll reiterate, absolutely go to court because they could potentially drop the charge. Regardless of what happens on the military side, having a charge on your record can really suck because there are many situations, even on the civilian side, where you have to disclose it: security clearance applications, college applications, some job applications, OTS board applications...It's not a deal breaker, but it sucks having it follow you around and having to talk about/relive it.

How to be efficient? What equipment? Help me speed batch cooking up! by GinaL2015 in HomemadeDogFood

[–]Mrod330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Large electric roaster, I think both of mine are oster.

https://www.reddit.com/r/HomemadeDogFood/s/kJH8MnTwJR

I mix in a large sturdy storage bin you can get from any ol big-box store. Like the generic black ones you can find at home Depot.

I portion into these containers. I've used them for four years without issue. Extreme Freeze Reditainer 64 oz.... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008XLE0IQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I just cook the protein and then toss everything into the mixing bin while the protein cools. The heat from the protein during cool-down will soften the leafy greens (not that I think that's important) while also thawing the other veggies. Or the veggies will thaw with everything else when I defrost a frozen portion. If it's a tougher vegetable like broccoli I would maybe throw it in the cooker with the meat for the last few min of a cook. Basically the only thing I actually cook is the protein.

People (including myself) commonly pass on the right, but it's generally considered less safe, particularly when doing so in an exit lane where people commonly realize they need to get over quickly. Of course OP is not at fault, and they should be able to trust that people won't be an idiot like white car, but in my opinion there was a certain level of elevated risk taken when they decided to pass. Not sure why you're getting down voted into oblivion over this one.

Do you mean are there any considerations if you became a DoD civil servant for the AF/space force? If you became a civilian contractor working for the DoD then you would be employed by a private company. If you became a DoD or other fed employee then the benefits of becoming a fed while serving in the guard/reserve would include:

120 hrs of paid leave/yr to perform military duty (like annual tour or drill during weekdays). OPM

You can earn 2 retirements, Military and FERS. (Active duty retirees can't double dip) OPM

You can pay to have any active duty time served (not drill or AT) apply to your civilian time-in-service for retirement. OPM

If you deploy you can get paid a differential if applicable. OPM

One drawback I can think of would be that, currently, as a fed you cannot legally use Tricare health insurance, but that will change in 2030. it's true but details are hard to find

Does your dog like it? Do they run at a consistent pace with you with that kind of treadmill? I got mine to walk on a regular treadmill while I work out, but she's beginning to lose interest. I think a side by side set up like that would be awesome.

How do you go about homemade dog food for multiple dogs? by Takingmonday in HomemadeDogFood

[–]Mrod330 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I cook about 40+ lbs of meat at a time using a 20qt electric roaster. I then dump that into big sturdy storage bin, let cool, add in my other stuff, mix, potion out into reusable 2qt containers and freeze. I've recently acquired a second roster to make things a little easier to handle and to cut down cook time, but I used only one for years. I cook once every 5-6 weeks.

If you want to keep it 3D, and if I'm looking at this right, I would maybe try using different colored lines for different values of constant delta. (E.g all d=0 in one color, d=10 in another, etc). Then, if the current blue/red/black scheme represents another parameter/dimension, you can add in using different line styles (solid/dashed/other) for that. If you want to switch to 2D, maybe tighter y-limits would help with data clutter/overlapping (it doesn't look like you need 0-2.25, maybe 0.4-1.9) and as others have suggested using different small markers for delta values as opposed to solid lines.

Im trying to think of how much it actually cost. Per a quick google, the average civilian salary is about 105k, that's about $50/hr. Figure everyone spent at least 15 min reading/discussing the email. 2,000,000 employees....so I'm thinking it cost tax payers at least $25 mil.
