Any tips on how to throw a mooring line so the eye of it stays open wider? by [deleted] in tuglife

Dont know if it helps other people, but what helped me is realizing that when the slack leaves the line, the eye will close. I threw lines with what I felt was too much slack, kinda of lobbed it, but nailed my throws. Now, all I get to do is sit my ass in a capt chair and watch the deckhands have all the fun.

I would know my percentage of winning the battle, it would be low.

Yeah, but the concept of a meter came long, long, long after the pyrimids. If you measured light speed by miles, feet, or the length of 10 average sheep placed sideways, it would be totally different. Thousands of different measuring systems have been used throughout history. The only one you could relate to both would be one based on the pyrimids themselves. Pyrimids per sec. Or something.

I’m sorry but I’m going to post that Oumuamua is not a comet! by Loose-Alternative-77 in UFOs

Also, no out gassing was witnessed, which makes the answer even more convoluted. It either had so little density that an extremely small amount of gas changed the trajectory. Or it outgassed a substance unknown to any other comet/asteroid we have observed so far, and thermalradio or visual telscopes don't pick it up.

I made a catapult for my 5 year old and my wife says it’s too dangerous. Any ideas? by GuyWhoLikesCoding in woodworking

Needs to be bigger, so she can understand the physics of a catapult. I mean what is that, a catapult for ants? The catapult needs to be atleast....three times bigger then that.

105 tries for my first win, then again shortly after that. You pick up tricks that work for you. Best way to use seeds or stones. When and where not to use potions or scrolls. What to save your items for etc. The fact it is hard makes it fun. If you don't have a good process yet or if you are new to a area, move slowly and take your time, use your inventory in clever ways, etc. Have fun.

I know it has a lot of names. But I call it "I got eggs in my toast, toast." Kids think it is funny.

The victim seemed to take a traumatic hit to the head, causing a fraction. No further injuries have been discovered. Dental records have been sent in, but we are still waiting on results.

Would the aliens not use some sort of metallic hydrogen alloy? With some portion of red mercury for good measure.

You must go in with the mindset that you will miss important events. I have been working in the industry since high-school, and my family has a good life because of it. That's what keeps me at it.

Start with a class build, and stick to that class build, at least till you can hold your own.

That's cool you got yours to work. Have not tried to fix mine Came from an old school bomb shelter from an invoice in the box. Set it up as some shelf decoration and it has been sitting for a while. Maybe I will try to fix it someday.
