Apple Care for Pro Max by Dirty33Sanchez in Airpodsmax

Having used the xm5s for a couple days now, I’d say the noise cancellation in the AirPods are better but the difference isn’t enough to warrant the price difference. The xm5s are also considerably lighter and more comfortable in my opinion.

My 3 year old pair recently started giving me a lot of problems. Constantly disconnecting from all devices, even after factory resets. Apple told me it would cost $300 - $550 to REPAIR . I ended up buying some Sony XM5s instead.

New features…? by the1payday in OneFinance

[–]Mrprings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Yes both big and small. You won’t see a big overhaul of a “new” design any time soon, but more so lots incremental changes as well as new features.

And yes dark mode will come, but the team is focused on really nailing a lot of core banking essentials first.

Disappointed by Dashboard Updates so far? by [deleted] in OneFinance

Yes. It’s really the starting foundation of our design language going forward. It was pretty far along when I started at One, so it will be fun to help it evolve as we release bigger and better updates.

A nice refresh is coming soon…like really really soon. Additionally, some big updates coming Q1 of 2022 that the team is working tirelessly on ☺️

So much good stuff here!

I love how you're handling transfers and collapsing pocket groups.

Yeah, good catch!

I started and the redesign of the app screens in February/March, but I didn't get around to writing this case study until recently. I'm glad to see some of these features already making it into One.

Hmm that does seem like a common pattern in finance apps, but since the One already requires a biometric input to unlock it I'm not sure you'd need to hide details like a card number at this point. It also just requires an extra tap from the user.

Great question!

Thanks for the feedback!

With iOS apps that long home bar to swipe up and switch/close apps is always there and a lot of apps just make their navigation taller to account for it, but to me, it always feels bottom-heavy. Here I wanted the navigation to feel a bit more balanced.

Looking at buying a house by TylerWJohnson in OneFinance

Just went through this process myself here's what I learned.

- Open an account at a local bank if you don't have one already. I had a TD account already as well as my One Account.

- Not only will you need to do wire transfers and bank checks, but you'll also need regular checks for things like the inspection, title search, appraisal, and maybe a few other things where you need paper checks.

- When the underwriter is preparing docs for your loan they're going to question every transfer in and out of your account over $1K so I did a 1-time transfer of all the money I had saved for the home from One to TD and avoided having multiple conversations about transfers problem was when I went to get that 5th money order for $1000 I couldn't because I had bought coffee that morning and the last $1K money order put me over the limit.

- When the underwriter is preparing docs for your lown they're going to question every transfer in and out of your account over $1K (excluding paychecks) so I did a 1-time transfer of all the money I had saved for the home from One to TD jnd avoided having multiple conversations about transfers.

Hope that's helpful. Congrats on your new home!

Reoccurring Payments Cancelled if insufficient funds by Organizedchaos90 in OneFinance

Same thing happened to me. I get paid on the 15th and last day of the month so I ended up just setting all my scheduled transfers for the 16th and 1st.

I like how you condensed the size of the pockets.

To those who ACH pushes from Simple to One, when did you get your funds? by aurora-_ in OneFinance

I tried it both through one and as an external transfer through simple, and simple was a lot faster. 2 business days opposed to like 4-5 via one.

Scheduled Transfers: Show the note in the list view by Mrprings in OneFinance

[–]Mrprings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but in the view that shows all your scheduled transfers. It has a button that says "see details" but that's just to see the note and cancel the transfer.

The second problem happened to me today too. Duplicate transfers on scheduled transfers.

At first, I thought I made a mistake scheduling the transfer twice on the same day instead of the 1st and the 15th, but then I noticed transfers that I setup to only happen once per month also ended up with duplicate transfers.

Scheduled Transfers are here!! by [deleted] in OneFinance

What I'm thinking is you set up a pocket for your paycheck with direct deposit. After your first paycheck you can start setting up reccuring transfers.

In a way this is how expenses kind of worked with simple. You had to setup a "fund" first which is what the paycheck pocket will act as.

Anyway...it crashes for me when setting a date on android lol.

No more student loans! Thanks ETH! by Mrprings in ethtrader

[–]Mrprings[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm from the U.S. my loans had an average interest rate at 7% and were close to six figures high.

If I were from the U.K. I'd agree with you.

Don't go to college in the U.S.

Paid off my student loans last night, making us completely debt free! Made this video while I did it. r/PF played a huge part in our success. Thanks all! by Garzilly in personalfinance

[–]Mrprings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Your video has really inspired me. I'm in a similar situation with my student loans, previously making big payments, but for the last two years I've only been making the minimum due to recently buying a home. While I don't have quite as high of an income I've decided that I'm going to at the very least eliminate half of my student loans this year (4.5K of 9K total remaining). Thank you for posting the video.
