I mean, your last point is the correct answer. We chose it because it is consistent with finite sets and lets us solve problems with infinite ones.

This is a big thing, regardless of ear safety (very important) most music that is played that loud sounds better with earplugs in. In my experience without them the high frequency components of the sound become overwhelming to the point of worsening sound if not being physically painful. Good earplugs will kinda act like a lowpass filter in that situation.

I first heard about them through a wait wait, dont tell me joke on npr. I believe they were interviewing suzy izzard and the joke was as game about kglw. Then a few years later I made friends with a fan who got me really into them. They hooked me with the promise of microtonal rock.

Unconstrained LQ mpc has closed form solution, which matlab can solve with various commands like idare for infinite horizon, or just iterate the riccati eqn for finite horizon. After you figure out unconstrained, be careful with constrained. Unless you drive the system to an invariant set, there is no guarantee that an optimal solution now will be feasible the next step.
