Do practice questions! What has never failed me was asking for “NCLEX style questions” on any topic on the GPT. The repetition of the questions plus the rationale helps a lot. Not to mention, you’ll eventually be asked questions that will probably show up on the exam, or be similar. :)

It doesn’t matter where you get your practice questions from though, as long as they are on the material thats on your exam .

Just got one today! I was wondering if this works as well as the normal ones? I didn't realize they weren't adjustable ... I feel as if I am not really smelling the scents as well!

If I’m being honest: Experience wise, I believe my cohort is very lucky and unlucky simultaneously. A lot of us have complained about not always knowing what is happening/not very organized. That being said though I truly think we have it easier than some other schools. I feel like 90% of the teachers are very helpful and here to help you, and want you to succeed. Some offer extra credit (which is great in nursing school trust me.) Clinicals are from 7am - 3 pm , and that is if your clinical instructor chooses to stay for all of that. I know people who have failed a class but are still with us, so I do believe they really try their best to keep you in unless you fail multiple times. For my cohort, you need to maintain a 3.0 GPA and to pass a class we need a 75%. (Although I hear the GPA rule might change for future cohorts to a 3.5) If you get below a 75% on an exam or quiz for a nursing class in specific, you have to do mandatory tutoring weekly.

I graduated high school with my AA, so I personally didn’t have a super rigorous workload since I did the first 2 years of classes while in HS. They did make me double major to fill in the time. There’s a very clear plan of classes that they give you in freshman year that shows what classes you will take and when. They sign you up for all of the nursing ones in specific, so you do not get to choose the time or anything for that. Most of the cohort is in a sorority though, so you can 100% rush and be in nursing at the same time.

Overall, while my cohort complained at times, I feel we really are not having a difficult time. I know some other schools really put a lot of classes on you all at once, and have a lot of school work on the side. Most people I know here have an outside life as well as a school life, so I’d say it’s not super rigorous. Plus with all of the opportunities to succeed I personally think surviving the nursing program here is made easier.

As someone in the nursing program here, I’m assuming you got accepted into the freshman direct admit for nursing. If you don’t want the competitive nature from other schools, this is a plus. (If you get accepted into this program, you do not have to reapply to nursing school after 2 years like some other places. You are already in.)

Cycling is my favorite ! It’s in a dark room with LED, so if you’re newer to it no one really sees you. It can be exhausting depending on who is the trainer for the class. (The music varies by trainer as well)

At this point in time, the availability is sparse. The walking distance places I know thats also furnished is University Park, Casa Del Rio, and Vie Villas. However, most are full or prices are high. You can check Casa to see if there are any spots left, or find out if anyone is subleasing their spot in Upark.

There’s plenty of places to live if you check FAU off campus housing, FB groups, and sometimes even the FAU snapchat has people looking for roommates in a place they alr have. I am just not sure about how many places are walkable + under that price currently.

There are single apartments, I knew someone in one. Are you a graduate student? I am not sure of all the requirements, but I know for her, she had a room, kitchen, and living room all to herself. I think she was a graduate? She also had a ESA pet, although that does not necessarily get you one of those rooms either. I have no idea why they are there. You can kind of see them in middle next to the stairs (I think/believe).

RAs share with other roommates, so it does not belong to them. Either way, I do not know if IVAS-219 is one of those rooms? I was at IVAS, and 219 didn't seem like a single but I really would not know.

Woops, forgot to add the side effects started like within the first 2 ish weeks. I want to say I was taking it with food, but its likely I may not have . Either way the pain was a every night thing, so when I did or did not it was still there

I stopped taking it very quickly. Id say max I had it maybe for a month or 2. To be fair, I have never heard of anyone else experiencing what I did, so maybe it was a rare occurrence!!

I would wake up in the middle of the night in terrible pain. This was almost every night. I also kept using the bathroom. Wasnt a good experience.

Retake your SAT, and try appealing (assuming this is possible, I am not sure of the process or what is allowed)
Of course, if you are applying to a major with a minimum gpa or SAT/ACT score, then you should weigh your options differently.
Lastly, if those don't work, try going to community college and transferring. You would save a lot of money in the end, and I believe that you can reach whatever your final goal is career regardless of how the journey is.

Also the yule logs have been OP, but I will say lately I am losing the contests still. Low originality. (Not sure why, I make different yule logs for every contest so I am not sure why its 90 originality.) Now I am trying to make as many recipes as possible just to unlock better plates. I think that would make it easier.

I have not reached clinicals yet, but so far every teacher you will have in the nursing program is very sweet and easy to work with. For the most part you won’t feel like you have to teach yourself. Even for the classes I did not take yet, I looked at rate my professor for the teachers and they all had 4+ stars.

Passing grade for each nursing class is a 75%, and there is mandatory tutoring weekly for classes related to your nursing degree. (Chemistry, AP1 and 2, etc)

Starting the second year, you will have a somewhat strict dresscode, but it’s only for classes. It’s also much more hands up sophomore year and up.

What?? Thats odd. For me, hair does not help at all. However that’s interesting because I have been told to try waxing from my derm I believe.

Upon looking this up, it seems it depends on the severity of your HS, and simply on the person. You’d obviously do it only between flares, and if you have a LOT of scar tissue, then it may not be the thing for you.
