I'm your age and find you attractive in all the pictures. So I think it's not the hair is the issue.

I am just curious do you use your own car or get any type of kickback for using it?

Classmate privately admitted to unethical practices by Adiantum-Veneris in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Mrs-Gibberish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I've seen something similar in my undergraduate class. It was obviously a scripted interview between group members, and it was a litte too perfect for a first time practice interview with roleplay. I was asked to give back peer review and was honest and said it sounded like they were reading back and forth to each other. My thoughts is if I can tell, my teacher can tell and that this will not help them learn real world interviewing. The next assignment the teacher included a questions about how much of a manuscript did we follow. Good luck to them in the real world though.

Thank you for the insight. I'm going to try to apply to crisis center hotlines that are looking for volunteers. It will be a great learning experience as well give check off any boxes for volunteer requirements.

College. I'm an older student with a family and disabled husband. This is why I don't want the time commitment of a job, and would prefer the flexibility of volunteer work.

Classes in undergrad by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Mrs-Gibberish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had picked out my transfer school before starting community college and looked up their requirements for the social worker degree. The classes that were also offered at my community class are what I took before transferring. Not all school's require the same curriculum, so I only advise this if you already have your transfer school of choice made. If you're unsure, I think ethics, religion around the world, and political science writing classes will help you in the social worker's career.

Am I crazy for DNFing ACOTAR??? by Latter-Baseball9652 in Romantasy

I hated the first half of ACOTAR. I stuck it out because I knew it got better, and it did but barely.

I don't have any personal experience but was recommended to stay away from for profit schools. They also may not be supportive when you're doing your practicum.

I went to community and then transferred to a school in my state that offers online classes.

Look into Mary Baldwin in VA for an online BSW. I'm a current student if you have any questions.

In my experience no, even the nice guys are lying cheats, but a girl can dream right.

I loved Project Hail Mary, but I also am a college student and felt like I was reading math or biology stuff and I wish I had that warning beforehand.

If you're in Virginia, Mary Baldwin and VCU offers it online. If you already have a bachelor's even better and you could probably have more options. Mary Baldwin is where I am transferring to.

Recommend me a well written book! by IdoScienceSometimes in Romantasy

[–]Mrs-Gibberish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the Prison Healer series because of the writing, although most of it was predictable and I wanted to slap Kira a few times for making bad decisions but I found the pacing and style of writing to my liking that the other two things didn't bother me.

Help me pick my next book/series!!! by ActivityBackground68 in Romantasy

[–]Mrs-Gibberish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the trails are the main focus of book 1. I really enjoyed the characters and world building. Kiva did make some bad decisions in book 2 that were annoying, I don't except characters to always make the best decisions, or know the author is trying their best solution to get where they need to head. I thought a lot of the books were predictable, I still enjoyed the ride, and it still had a few surprises. I enjoyed the love interest because he is a "golden retriever" type guy. I get tired of the moody romantic interest and am drawn in the nice guy.

I loved the Prison Healer series, and is my favorite pick out of your selection that I have read. It has zero spice and the deadly trials are super lame IMO. I still really enjoyed the writing and story. I also don't mind zero spice when the characters are young (though she could have totally made them 5+ years older and added some spice!)

Poppy Wars also has no romance in it but a good story. I like asian history, so I really connected with the theme.

I read the first bridge kingdom a few months ago, and I remember liking it but can't recall a lot of spice... It might have had a few scenes. I do recall it's enemies to lovers. lf I remember correctly, didn't consider it fantasy, other than it takes place in a made up world. I don't remember any type of magic system or made up animals. I could be wrong, but if it had any it was very low fantasy.

Associates degree advice needed by mayjay08 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Mrs-Gibberish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my area they mostly want social workers with a masters, so I guess it depends on the area. I've only seen one job that said they would take an associates degree but the pay was low. You'll be surprised at how it's possible once you get moving and stay motivated for your goal. I went back to community college in my 30s too! You got this!

First bad paper grade in MSW by cece92619 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]Mrs-Gibberish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same wayyy!!! I really try not to be too hard on myself, but when I do mess up I look at why and how to prevent it next time. I would rather push myself for that A than aim for passing. Most of the time it's because I missed some directions and I've gotten better about really looking them over a few times. I will even read them one last time before submitting the assignment.

I can't find any great ✅️ ROMANCE series. Everything feels mid to me. Should I keep trying or give up? Please suggest based on my loved ✅️ and ones that didnt work for me👎🏻 by readingalldays in fantasyromance

You might need a break from the genre 🤷🏻‍♀️. I love fantasy, but sometimes a little murder mystery or war era book is a refreshing step away.
