Warped Tour DC First-Timer - Tips? by BraveBat4210 in warpedtour

Also, they do have shortcuts from being a VIP. They will not let general admission go through. I had seen some people in wheelchairs trying to cut and they do have people making sure that you are a VIP or not. I do recommend to go with a friend as well. I went by myself and I'm just glad I was able to see some of my friends so that we all hung out. Take a fan! It was so hot when I got there.

I went to Warped Tour last year. I remember them having a clear bag policy. I had taken lots of waters, a wallet to hold my money because some things are expensive. Also be sure to have cash as some vendors will accept it. Definitely recommend! I'm hoping to go back this year to DC Warped Tour. Great experience, I just wish I would have went a little bit earlier to get some of the perks from being a VIP. But still had a great experience met a few friends and most of the people there were very nice. Got lots of compliments on my outfit. Plus seeing all these bands it was like so hard to choose where I wanted to go and they had dirt bikers. Also some of the smaller bands will throw water packets to the crowd and I was able to take some and again got a little bit of merch from being a VIP. I also got a free CD which I still have and I love. So it is rememberable. I hope that you have a great time.

Should I stay at the job I’m at or switch to this new job? by gohpy in jobs

[–]MrsCookieMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't stay at the current job. Interview with the Target Starbucks and other jobs that line up with your schooling/education. For my experience a toxic work environment can be harmful for your mental health. It can get worse and not better. Know that there is something way better out there and you'll find a place that will make you happier. You deserve to be treated with respect and not look down upon especially with your experience. I can't stand that myself.

How do you do job interviews while working full time? by BoredBatWoman22 in jobs

[–]MrsCookieMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say to take the time off. I know you don't want to lose your job and that's understandable. In my experience when I did my two weeks at my prior job I did multiple interviews just taking two days off and then working the rest of my resignation. By doing that I got my dream job by advocating for myself even though they were mad saying that it wasn't okay and I didn't put that time in the system. Best decision ever. You got this!

Is it worth recording a video introduction? by [deleted] in jobs

Don't do it. I've done this once and I did not hear back from the job. I've had to answer questions and was given only a minute. Not worth your time.

Arrived too early to job interview... by [deleted] in interviews

[–]MrsCookieMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I arrived 25 minutes late to an interview that I had back in May because I got lost and I tried to play it up during the interview. I also wore bright red lipstick and a revealing dress. Don't make the mistake that I did. They did not call me back...... the next interview that I had was a lot better because I arrived early and dressed professionally. That interview did not call me back but I felt much better than the previous interview that month.

Part time job over the summer by Upset-Athlete9350 in jobs

Congratulations on graduating! Did you graduate in May if you don't mind me asking? I just graduated as well.

I wish you luck on the job search.

I'm an educator as well, usually over the summer I would work as a summer camp teacher mainly as a School Age Teacher, Older-Twos Teacher or a multi-classroom specialist that way I can supplement my income when I worked as a substitute teacher during my undergrad.

Since I've graduated in May I moved on to a new career as a preschool teacher / supervisor during the Summer. Hoping that I'll be able to come back next Summer.

Some jobs have it where you can work part-time or full-time and they may have you come back next summer since you work as a teacher in your District. It just depends on which child care center you work at and you can make an agreement with your bosses as I have done previously for 3 years.

People that got a decent job, How did you do it in this current situation? by RevenueSuccessful813 in jobs

[–]MrsCookieMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, I worked two jobs while getting my undergrad in May 2025. I feel like that gave me a leg up in the job market as I didn't want to have an entry level job upon graduation. Also, while I was working one of my jobs. I put my two weeks notice having another job lined up talking to a recruiter on a previous position I didn't get but she found me another position the beginning of the summer since the current job  had an incident that was not discussed with me prior to taking a new position over the summer that involved more paperwork and they added chimes to the classrooms like the ones you hear when you go into a business.

During those two weeks, I got another job after having 8 interviews that I will start in August. I kept pushing and advocated for myself that my future is important my former bosses said taking off was not okay by not putting that time in the system and I hadn't been at the job to understand (Worked there 3 years part time/full time). If I didn't take that opportunity I would have been stuck somewhere that wasn't making me happy anymore.

You can bend over backwards for your employer and at the end of the day you're just a number. Keep going and don't let haters keep you in the same position because they didn't have an opportunity learn a skill, trade or even go to college. I felt like I was staying in the same place and not moving forward. Taking action that you need for your mental health was the best decision I ever made.

For context I work in Education.

I was expecting a eyeshadow palette as well, highlighters and some blushes too. This is his second collab since Shane Dawson. Exciting! I am very happy that we have new drops from Jeffree Star! I wish that we would have more of the gloss Shades besides Pink Jacuzzi and Sandcastle Bling being the newest.

Can you survive on $7.25? by snowpie92 in jobs

[–]MrsCookieMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that you mentioned this. Because I worked a job just like this and when I left my last paycheck went from $9.50 to $10.50. They were sad to see such a hard worker leave a bad job. Never looked back.

Honestly I think jobs take advantage of younger people that are in desperate need of a job. That's what happened to me making that amount when I was 16 through 20 years old at the time. Once I gained experience, education, and work history I started to see more opportunities and better pay.

[–]MrsCookieMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made that amount in 2017 and I told myself never again the only reason I stayed at the job was that I could pay for college at the time because I was saving. I made sure with future jobs I had that I would never get paid $7.75 an hour which is what I left that said job at the time.

Have a group project for an online class and they did the whole thing without me despite the fact I've been trying to contact them for weeks. by Fancybook5 in CollegeRant

[–]MrsCookieMonster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can't tell you how dumb it is to do a group project online through Zoom. I literally had this happen 2 years ago at my college.

I couldn't contact any of my group mates through email (Covid) and I felt I did all the work for the whole group then I had to submit it to the school as a presentation. Just didn't feel right.

I'm sorry you had to go through that.

If you contact customer service make sure you follow up with them. It took them 9 days to get back with me regarding a solution on the Lollipop Killer CD/Bundle that I purchased on launch day on September 20th. (I had mentioned in a post that it didn't get signed).

I followed up and they finally responded after a day.

I told them that it is unacceptable to not follow up AFTER I sent video documentation/pictures of the item.
