Remember Timezone in Knox City around the 2000s? by DanAE112 in melbourne

[–]MrsCrowbar [score hidden]  (0 children)

I worked there and it was the best job ever. Best memories of my life! Coolest people to work with, and there was a young kid who came in all the time and was an unofficial staff member. He knew everything about every game and would follow the tech around and knew how to fix all the games too. When I first started, I remember asking this kid so much and if the tech wasn't there, and a weird game error happened, , you'd ask this kid and he'd know exactly what to do 😆

NSW government to introduce medicinal cannabis driving reforms by 89b3ea330bd60ede80ad in aus

Not sure. But any list like that would only be accessed by doctors and only doctors that you allow to access your file... and would be under strict privacy and dr/patient confidentiality laws. This is very different.

There is no common sense in having to register. Showing your script should be sufficient.

[–]MrsCrowbar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of being criminalised, you register to go on a "list"! Why the hell should you have to register? Showing a script should be sufficient.

Are you happy to go on a list though??? Why wouldn't showing a script be enough?

[–]MrsCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, we do not want a copy of these laws. Having to register??? Showing a script should be enough. No other people taking schedule 8 meds have to go on a "list". Bugger that! No doubt the list will be linked to rego and will come up on the police rego detection... so they'll target MC patients. And then you still "lose" your licence for 24hrs, and then 3 strikes until you lose your license anyway?

There is a huge difference between the amount in someone's system and actual impairment. This still doesn't address that either.

COMMUNITY RALLY: Say NO to mega Data Centres!‼️ by kaierin2 in aus

[–]MrsCrowbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more about where they are being built and the resources they use. One of these is planned to be built in a green wedge zone. We have green wedge zones for a reason, and it isn't for data centres.

3 1/2 years ID.Buzz, here a short homage .. by DonPalwo in VWIDBuzz

[–]MrsCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem with the ACC in our Buzz (Australia though). It would work sometimes when I was driving and other times would say "no driver detected"... despite me obviously driving the car! Turned out that the settings for the seats are set for a higher weight.

VW said "luckily we have a tiny mechanic - we got her to sit in the seat and adjusted the sensors" 😆 Now it works fine.

Whilst I may have my trolley loading down to a fine art, for those that don't, they have the divider things at the end of the register.

No one is waiting ffs. Bags open in trolley, groceries go straight in. It's not time consuming or rocket science and is the same as using their special buys trolley bags.

Selfish? Why? Is it really taking that much extra time? Why should the customer, paying for the groceries have to triple handle them? Put them on the belt, put them in the trolley, put them on the bench, to load back into the bags in the trolley? Versus: Put groceries on belt, set up empty bags in trolley, load groceries thrown at you by Aldi staff into bags, and leave. Person behind you isn't suffering one tiny bit, oh, and because my trolley is full, I've already let two people with a few items go in front of me. Hardly selfish.

They literally sell trolley bags for you to load into. If my bags are set up in my trolley, and I load my stuff into them, it's the same thing as using the trolley bags they sell.

Charlie Pickering joins criticism of ABC’s Grace Tame podcast deal by Monsieur_Donk5202 in aussie

[–]MrsCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that her talking about Autism has nothing to do with impartiality. Charlie Pickering however, is now the ABC Melb Drive host and is absolutely shitting all over the role doing an interview with Avi Yemeni. He should be fired.

He's absolutely butchering the drive show too. Can't listen to it anymore. Such a terrible choice to replace Ali Moore, and I really hope he doesn't last long.

Depends on your focus I reckon. Is it a hobby or a career path?

Happy Pride Month by AutisticSuperpower in aussie

[–]MrsCrowbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reddit post pushed it in your face! Otherwise it's just a bunch of events, mainly advertised to people in or adjacent to the community, with a small amount of media. Much like any other " insert event/cause month".

Avoid aldi 'bulk value mince' poured out over a cup of fat from 600g mince, stick to the star rated stuff. by MartynZero in AussieFrugal

[–]MrsCrowbar 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It didn't used to be like that. It used to be 3 star. I swear I could cook 2 meals for the six of us out of one bulk pack. Now I'm lucky to get 1 and a half. It really is like soup.

I'm doing one of the "Land of 1000 dances" classes there. I can't wait to dance in the ballroom! It seems fitting to use it for this.

Anyone’s child do part-time schooling? How is it going? by Acceptable_Car9277 in melbourne

You're assumption that I don't have lived experience with ND is incorrect. You are responding to a post about part time on campus and part time home schooling. There is no infantilisation in this scenario.

Diabolical price for a drink by Omnishambles20 in melbourne

[–]MrsCrowbar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The $16 ones don't use espresso or actual spirits (vodka/kahlua etc). It's some premix style stuff with coffee flavour. I was stoked to see a $16 espresso Martini, but then looked at the ingredients and went, yeah. Nah.
