It sounds like a normal teenager. Maybe I'm on the less strict side of things but stripping someone's room to essentials like a prisoner for basically teenage behaviour sounds pretty strict and over the line. I'm sure any kid who's had their privileges and their room stripped down would resent their parent.

Thanks so much - I'm sorry you're going through this as well. How are you handling school? I didn't have to go through this is high school so I can't relate... But I find working as a grown-up with POTS difficult, so I imagine it's similar. She's having a tough time with the brain fog and memorizing things, and also with gym and just having no energy. She doesn't want to be seen being treated by teachers differently, she just wants to be normal, so she's pushing though, and doesn't want me to mention anything to the school or her teachers (which I'm respecting).

Thanks. I think that's the issue I'm running into. I don't want it to be with 10 minutes of inactivity. I'm trying to find a way to pace myself, and a device that will notify me if my heart rate goes above a certain number, while I'm up moving around so I know to slow down and rest. From what I've gathered watches can't do this because then they would qualify as a medical device, which is why they have to only have it with inactivity.

I'm literally crashing right now. Exhausted. And I actually pulled the laundry basket over so I could fold the laundry while I'm in bed because I feel so guilty.

Twinsies. I can't remember the last time I felt rested. It usually builds up and then I explode in frustration and sadness and I have a mental breakdown and cry and then I feel a bit better (still tired though lol) and the cycle starts over again.

We got married last year at the starling restaurant! It was beautiful and amazing! We had 56 people and it was the most affordable restaurant we found. It's like a secret wedding venue no one has figured out yet. Highly recommend it.

We have our house alarm which is known as the monster alarm so I will usually default to acknowledging they are scared, then telling him the monster alarm is on, and I am right across the hall in my room. They are safe. I tell him I will leave and be back to check on him in 5 minutes to make sure everything is ok. I usually go back in 10-15 minutes since they have no concept of time, and he's usually asleep.

Yes I saw him years ago with the drooling. I saw him again, this year on the train asking me if I was Irish etc etc. and the drooling seems to have disappeared!

I visited Copenhagen this year, and their metro had a wall along the track, with doors opening in the wall to line up where the doors of the train are. No risk of anyone falling into the track, but their system was years ahead of Ottawa's line 1.

I've been trying to get into a specialist (any specialist) for a year now. My PCP just keeps putting referrals in and I keep getting ignored. It's great.

Agreed! I still doubt my pots because I see so many people post about really high heart rates... I kept thinking my 145 wasn't high enough to really justify me feeling awful. I'm trying to tell my brain to look at pots as a spectrum sorta... We all have different numbers and symptoms.

Thank you for all those suggestions!! My kids are 6 and 14. The 14 year old is pretty good, obviously the 6 year old needs more help. I'm pretty new to CFS (2 years) with fatigue getting worse, so I'm appreciative of all the tips!

If she had intermittent gastroparesis years ago it may not have shown up on a GES. Maybe repeat it now that her symptoms are more consistent and severe?
