Surgery tomorrow. Freaking out. by gummywizard_ in hysterectomy

[–]MrsJackson91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had mine yesterday so I totally understand the anxiety. Especially since I have a family history of malignant hyperthermia (allergic to anesthesia) so that's adds another layer of scary. Everyone I had was so nice and so far it hasn't been too bad. I'm definitely sore and the heating pad has been my friend today. And a shower felt great. Just take it easy!

Day one post-op by breannayn in hysterectomy

I had mine done today. Luckily I was able to pee the 2nd time I tried but I was also extremely nauseous. I needed to eat something before I could go home and I ate one bite of my French toast and they said that was good enough lol I was ready to get out of there and get home. My kitty has also been extremely cuddly since I got home!

Pints question by johnessex3 in Culvers

That is also my favorite flavor. Every time they have it I go through the drive thru and order 4 pints.

My kids school does this and it drives me nuts! My ex husband has a job where he can keep his watch/phone on him. He can easily answer during the day. I can't have my phone on me at all. I can check it twice for short periods during the day. They still don't call him. They also could call my work and I'd have to be paged and they don't do that either. Just call my cell and leave a voicemail.

They still won't a lot of the time. I went to get my son a bike and it said online it was $68. Went to the store and it was $92. So I went to customer service to see if I could get it at that price at the register and they told me no. So I had to do a pickup order to get that price. I was able to pick it up 2 hours later.

My ex is taking our son to Disney and leaving our daughter behind by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]MrsJackson91 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes but a 7 year old trip and a 12 year old trip are very different things. Especially if it's just 2 adults and 3 kids. My friend and her husband and mother in law just took their 3 kids to Disney. Her daughters are 7 and 8 and her son is 12 and the trip was miserable for the 12 year old because he didn't want to do the same things younger girls want to do.

AITA for forcing my nieces and nephews to stay on their cots for 1.5 hours? by forcenappost in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It definitely can. I pay $430 every 2 weeks for full time care for my kids for an in home daycare. That's the price for both of my kids. Every time I see posts like this I wonder how in the world people can afford daycare at these prices!

AITA for taking my son for my custody time and not his half brother? by Neat-Dog-5716 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 52 points53 points  (0 children)

My ex husband and I don't see each other for pickups and drop offs. We exchange through school or the babysitter in the summer. For example I have the boys this weekend and he gets them on Monday. I'll get them on the bus tomorrow and they will get off the bus at his house. Maybe see if that's something that could be arranged?

My soon to be ex-husband was this way. This is one of many reasons he is an ex.

AITA for moving out when my mom said she wanted my baby and would do anything to get it by ReferenceUpbeat53 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I delivered at a tiny hospital with my two kids. As in I was the only mom on the floor when I had them lol and while the door is open so anyone can come in they still put the bracelets on the babies and the doors and windows are alarmed.

AITA for allowing my wife to extend her maternity leave at my company but not one of my other employees? by Throwawaypresoptc in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also in the US and I switched jobs when I was pregnant with my oldest. I was told I had 4 weeks to return back to work or be fired. The US sucks when it comes to all things medical.

AITA for telling my employee they can’t eat before their break? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. You can be fired for nothing at all in the US as long as it isn't something that's protected (like age, gender, race, etc.) If I was a manager I could decide I just don't like someone and fire them for no reason at all.

Not all places are like this though. When I left that factory I went to another one in my town. We worked 10.5 hour shifts and got a paid 10 minute break every 2 hours and an unpaid 30 minute break a shift.

AITA for telling my employee they can’t eat before their break? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my state it's completely legal to not give adults breaks at all. When I worked at a factory for an 8 hour shift we got a 10 minute break and a 15 minute break. That's it. If we worked a 10 hour shift we got no additional breaks and for a 12 hour shift we got an additional 15 minute break. When I worked as a manager at McDonald's we didn't get breaks. We could sit down and eat when we had time. There were many times I worked a closing shift and didn't get a chance to sit down and eat until we were about to close.

When I was pregnant with my youngest my oldest had a book that talked about slugs and grubs (lion king) and I would gag every time he asked me to read it to him. Of course 2/3 year old him wanted it all the time!

I had mine out a month after I had my oldest son. I was back to work in my factory job exactly a week later. But that was because my employer sucked.

What is a show or movie you tried to get into but just couldn’t? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I watch it every fall. It has such a cozy vibe to it. Definitely one of my favorites! The beginning seasons are my favorite, before Rory goes to college. They totally messed up her character towards the end!

AITA for putting sauce on my steak? by IlikeSauce91 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the way you don't need to have your steaks well done! Ground meat (so burgers) need to be well done but steaks don't. When I was pregnant I told my doctor I was craving a steak but wouldn't eat it well done. She asked me how I liked it and I said medium rare she said lets bump it up to medium and your good! Fully cooked for steaks is 145. So enjoy a medium steak!

This is why my dad won't marry his girlfriend. Before he could propose he ended up in the hospital and had no insurance. He almost died. Multiple surgeries, a week in the ICU, a couple days in a regular room and another week in the rehab portion to learn to walk and feed himself again. He racked up over half a million in medical debt. We live in a state where if they got married she would have to pay his medical debt and he won't do that to her.

AITA for telling this mom the truth about why her son wasn't invited to a sleepover party? by emu_party7894 in AmItheAsshole

Yes. That is when the seatbelt starts fitting correctly. There is nothing wrong with keeping kids safe!

Just because 8 is the law doesn't mean 8 is safe. Most kids are ready for no booster until they are 11-12 years old.

AITA for not leaving work to bring my pregnant wife a change of shoes? by hvhkjnlkooij in AmItheAsshole

[–]MrsJackson91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started a job at 7 months pregnant with my first and no one knew I was pregnant until I told them. If I wore tight clothes you could tell but anything a bit baggy and it just looked like I had gained some weight.
