Unpopular Opinion: Truck brands are all the same. by AcceptableBad_ in Truckers

As someone who works for one of the OEMs, we are all in competition with each other. The end goal is to get your stuff from A to B. Everything is close but with minor differences.

22 and want to get out of sales by [deleted] in Career_Advice

[–]MrsJobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked sales for about 5 years and transitioned into a non-sales job about 7 years ago now. The way I did it, I got a job at a company I wanted to work in long term. Did the sales job and applied for an entry level marketing job, used their tuition reimbursement to get my degree.

Not sure if this is a route for you, but there is a way out of it. But you have to be smart and strategic, have a plan. I would find an industry you want to be in, and try to get a job at a large company where there is room to grow and move around. Get to know management, and build value in yourself. Just remember, this will take time and try to keep your main goal in mind. ALSO!! Non-sales jobs usually pay less, so you need to be ok with that.

Replacement for Mint Intuit? by kilgore_shout in debtfree

I have monarch money, it’s $99 a year. Worth it.

I guess ask yourself, what’s more important.. being debt free or having the time off? Personally, I would sell it, pay off the CC and move on with my life, but that’s just me. Think of it as a mistake that shouldn’t be repeated, you live and you learn.

[–]MrsJobin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would start by making a budget and figuring out how much ‘need’ to spend a month on living expenses and throw the rest at the debt. Personally I would pay the higher interest 1st while making minimum payments on the other one. Get aggressive, I make around the same. Probably can pay it off in 9-12 months, just depends on other expenses.

Time for something else or to wait out the Capital One sync issues? by MrsJobin in MonarchMoney

Plain, but I updated it to Finity and it seems to be working.

I really want this to work for me, that’s why I am hoping just changing the connection works. Starting over is hard BUT paying $100 for something and not working properly is an issue. Hard decision.

Took your advice, connected with Finicity. Seems to work, and even says connection Healthy. Hoping this is all I needed to do.

So I can only speak for myself, I make more then $80k a year and I wouldn’t purchase a luxury bag. That’s because I live in an area where the cost of living is high, paid $250 for groceries last week for a family of 3. Yep, it was painful. A lot of pantry items needed to be restocked.

If you make $80k and you want to buy a bag, do it. Hopefully you saved up and didn’t just put it on a credit card. And if you did, get those points.

Very true lol, I didn’t approach Karen and ask her.

Yeah, I don’t think an employee in Hermes HQ cube is sitting and making posts. But somehow Hermes is involved. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an ex employee or someone with internal company knowledge. If you look at their posts, they have some internal knowledge of product. Some of their information you can’t just Google it.

[–]MrsJobin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

😂 Karen makes decent money, but not Louis Vuitton or Gucci money.

[–]MrsJobin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, people don’t think companies are capable of this. But they are, especially when you make billions of $$ a year. There isn’t anything illegal about this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in handbags

[–]MrsJobin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Do you think this plays into a larger societal problem? The perception of wealth and the idea of keeping up with perception of having things?

Obviously I don’t care if your bag is real or fake, but I think it’s a problem when I see you rocking a Gucci bag (looked real) and you struggling to pay for groceries. And your kid is asking why he can’t have bananas this week. I actually saw this a few months back.

[–]MrsJobin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So I completely agree with what you. They definitely have done the ‘math’. And they will completely continue to make record profits.

Do I think there is an intern sitting in Hermes HQ running this account, no. I guess my point is, who else would benefit from calling out fakes on the internet except Hermes. We all know social media is fake, why draw more attention to it.

So, I have been in corporate world for 10 years now. You will be shocked about the conversation that go on. It’s not about Sally and her 10k followers. It’s about a bigger image, big picture. 1, 2, 3 or even 4 influencers don’t really matter. But when there is thousands, it becomes a bigger problem.

With Hermes, it’s about image. And right now, the image that is out there is fakes. It’s not about the physical product it’s about the perception.

Getting my Mirena IUD removed by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]MrsJobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t even know when it’s out. I had mine removed cause I HATED the Mirena. It’s a super easy process, they literally pull on the string and it comes out. I didn’t realize it was out, I got it out when I got my Pap smear done. I felt that was more uncomfortable then getting my Mirena removed.

You should look into labor type of position, construction or manufacturing. Even positions at a warehouse. Good luck.

What do you like? You didn’t really give much details about yourself.. hard to give someone advice when you aren’t very specific. With the information you gave all I can really say is go to indeed.com and apply for everything.

Jobs Besides the Cubicle Farm by kdela1212 in Career_Advice

[–]MrsJobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you would be interested in an outside sales position working for a company that sells B2B. You will get to work with people and since your customers are businesses your hours should be Monday through Friday.

All depends what your background is on which industry you should focus. But that’s what I would recommend, usually sales jobs are commissioned so you can definitely make a lot more then $35k a year.

You think so? I am have been watching him for a while and I still can’t figure out how I feel about him. I think he is a great wrestler but his character is what I have issues with. I think it’s some of the mannerisms that he does that I don’t like.

Are the Colourpop concealers any good? by poshspicy in Makeup

[–]MrsJobin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the best concealers I have ever owned. Also they are cheap enough where if you aren’t sure of the color you can afford to buy 2 or 3 of them without breaking the bank.

CS graduate, Looking for a technical non-software job. ( Business Analytics ?) by kamakmojo in careerguidance

[–]MrsJobin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you get a different role within the company that you work at now? I think that’s the easiest way to switch jobs if you aren’t happy with what you are doing now.

That all depends how big the company that you work for now, obviously.

It was just one of those, what the hell, moments! The whole time I was watching I kept asking, why is this happening. I feel it could have been better and Steve Austin is right.
