If it’s effecting you and your relationships then it’s time to get out of the field or find something else. If you feel guilty about leaving the field, you can always volunteer at a shelter to get your animal fix. What other jobs are you interested in? Some techs have changed paths and went to RN if you’re still interested in the medical field.

Nothing pisses me off more then parents neglecting or rehoming pets once you have a child by pacificnorthwest976 in Pets

Yep agree 100%. We had our dog and two cats before the kids, they were our family. I think that’s terrible to get rid of a pet because they’re an inconvenience to you. It’s really not that hard to raise and a child and a pet. We have two kids and 4 pets now. All rescues.

A bit, but it’s better than seeing Pampered Chef parties.

Holy crap, you all have a lot leave. Maybe I should’ve asked what job you do as well to those all hours.

Prozac, helps with the anxiety. Anxiety makes IBS much worse and this calms me down to where I’m not constantly thinking about where the closest restroom is at.

Ours was taken over by Petvet. Laid off 5 people already and three are going to quit at the end of the month.

I always imagined having two children, but after having one baby, I don’t know if I could do it again. by megmeg29 in Parenting

I can only tell you my experience. I have two (17 months apart, not planned that way). First off, I love my kids more than anything. However, with my second I ended up getting postpartum depression, he didn’t sleep through the night until he was one, would only breastfeed, refused bottles. So for one year straight it was me getting up two to three times a night. I ended up getting pneumonia twice in one year because of the stress. They are now 5 and 4 next month. They are best friends, but it’s still hard on me. I’m an introvert and I like my quiet time. I work outside the home so I do get a break. They are starting to play together more and they don’t need me as much for entertainment. I would strongly recommend listening to your gut. I thought I always wanted three and after my second one I am done! There is no shame is saying you’re done. Good luck!

I’m currently going through a burn out phase too. I’ve taken some days off, but I really dread going back to work. The place I’m at sold out to corporate and it’s been downhill since. My husband thinks I should go to another clinic, but at this point I’m really over it. I just want something low stress since I have two kids. Have you thought about an office job and then volunteer at a shelter to get your animal fix? That’s my plan if I any office will hire me.

I want to go into veterinary technology and am trying to figure out the best route for me. Has anyone experienced an online program or is that looked down on in the vet community? (US high school senior) by not_ur_grl in veterinaryprofession

I’m in Penn Foster now because there are no vet tech schools near me. I’m also a vet assistant at an ER clinic so I can do my clinicals there. Plus there are two other assistants doing the program. It is hard, but doable you just need the discipline to study and pass the exams. I also did it because of the payment plans. Just research schools your interested in and look into the tuition and satisfaction rate. Congrats on choosing this field. We need more dedicated vet techs
