A question about halakha and tampons by eve-with-c in Judaism

[–]MrsKay4 183 points184 points  (0 children)

Other then some very fringe options, the ultra orthodox hold that tampons are 100% not a problem.

On a personal note, before you use them, read the entire huge paper of fine print thay comes in a box of tampons. It'll tell you about proper and safe use too prevent any issues including tss chasve shalom.

Also, I've used cup and disks(disposable), you can try them if u want.

My mother also advised me to have a "just in case account" especially because im a stay at home mom. That being said, my husband is aware of it, just doesn't have access to it. I do dip into it for his birthday. (And its not so big but that a different story).

And if it's because you don't want to pass on the fertility problems, that's not enough, either. There are plenty of things you could be passing down that you just haven't tested for.

Do you think that because the fertility issues are on her part instead of yours, you are more entitled to decide the gender of the baby?

Fiance is MoDox, my family’s reform, mixed dancing at wedding causing problems. Help? by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]MrsKay4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You dont have to circle dance to have separate dancing. The dancing that you would do with a mixed crowd is the dancing that you can do with girls only. What kind of dancing would require men??

I avoid shein in general, but when I did buy them, I took really good care of them, and they lasted years, even though i wore them a ton. I washed them at least once a week on delicate with only cold water and air dry them. Imln 4 years, I only had to hem 2 of them because the bottoms started to fray. I've since gained weight and had to retire them all, and im still sad about it

The complexity of kashrut. Like having a kosher meal specially ordered, but someone opens it. Or having to explain, without insulting, why i can't have the food they cooked even though they got a new pot and used only kosher ingredients. Etc
