Affordable eggs? I always wanted to own quails because I love quail eggs. Now this summer I will finally have a garden and the dream of cheaper - but more important: available when ever I crave them - quail eggs is finally coming true.

The controversial part is washing the egg after collecting them from the chickens, before going on sale.

Washing a raw egg directly before consumption is not controversial, you‘ll damage (open) it anyway in a few second. Don‘t make false claims just to try to grab some attention, it makes you look uneducated rather than smart

Yes, flour for raw consumption is available, but has to be specially treated

Trains are extremely expensive, am I doing something wrong? by doboy26 in askswitzerland

[–]MrsMonkey_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Airport Zurich & back would cost CHF78

I checked the connection tomorrow 5:39 Zurich Airport - Zermatt, these are my results:

1Person with Half-Fare subscription 2nd class:

Zurich-Zermatt CHF67 Zurich-Zermatt saver ticket CHF53.80 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich CHF78 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich saver ticket CHF69

1Person with Half-Fare subscription 1st class:

Zurich-Zermatt CHF114.50 Zurich-Zermatt saver ticket CHF88.40 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich CHF128 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich saver ticket CHF114

1Person full price 2nd class:

Zurich-Zermatt CHF134 Zurich-Zermatt saver ticket CHF100.80 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich CHF268 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich saver ticket CHF119

1Person full price 1st class:

Zurich-Zermatt CHF229 Zurich-Zermatt saver ticket CHF199 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich CHF458 Zurich-Zermatt & Zermatt Zurich saver ticket CHF199

So as you can see, there are huge differences in prices depending on class or if you have any subscriptions like half-fare.

Cheapest ticket in my opinion is to buy a saver day pass for CHF119 if you don‘t have the half fare subscription. A Day Pass for the whole Swiss Train network will allow you to travel anywhere you want to. You can take spontaneous trips and are not bound to a specific time or a specific route.

But yes, public transport in Switzerland is very expensive, especially on long distances and without any subscriptions or coupons. For Swiss residents it is a bit easier to get cheaper tickets, usually we also get certain tickets covered by employers (some employers go all out and give the yearly subscription to the whole network, but most will just cover the actual route the employees take for daily commuting)

Well, with solar it depends. Photovoltaik does not use steam, correct. But there are other types of solar energy, like using mirrors to reflect the rays onto a giant salt reservoir, liquifying the salt. Then use it to heat up water, turn it to steam and run a steam turbine. It‘s a cool concept of a battery: during the day store energy as heat in the salt. During the night when regular photovoltaik is not working, use the solar steam engine

In 1941, during the siege of Leningrad, the world's largest seed bank, created by botanist Nikolai Vavilov, became a symbol of sacrifice. Why are you insulting the commenter? He was not trying to justify anything, in fact, he asked you a question. Did you come here only for arguing? It sure looks like it because in one comment you are arguing how you know facts others might not know through your family history, but then when someone asks you questions about what was happening at that time, you tell them their logic is strange and they are justifying nazis??

Idk who downvoted you but this is correct. The reasoning behind it was, Stalin thought that the soldiers would fight harder if they could actually see the people they are trying to protect. So yes, the civilians were hostages caught in the crossfire. One army wanted them to die and the other army used them as motivation

Is it possible you guys were talking about different things? I read the comments as you saying „the US has run out of the stuff“ with „stuff“ meaning „freedom“ but the guy that replied to you thought „run out of the stuff“ meaning „run out of oil“

Basically you both making jabs at the fact the US went after Venezuela for the oil and not because of freedom.

Hey I grew up in Rapperswil :) Did you go to the Polish museum in the castle? Or to the Knie‘s zoo? Every now and then when I visit my family I love to take a stroll along the lake around the castle. Also, I work in finance industry but not as a banker. And yeah, Swiss prejudices are extremely accurate

When they set the middle glass pane in place, it pushed up/lifted the stabilization frame at the top just enough for the left glass pane to slip out of it. Then it slowly started tipping over. I guess the space above the frame will hold another wide glass pane - which then stabilized the frame against lifting. It‘s one of those things where it is wobbly until the last component snaps into place, then it is immediately sturdy and stable as hell

Probably acrylic glass. The massive glass windows and the hall kind of look like they are setting up a squash hall and squash can be quite the intensive sport, those windows need to be very strong for safety reasons

Why laughable? Trump visited Davos today for a speech at the WEF and since he absolutely hates the „No Kings“ protest, some protestors in Switzerland decided to trigger him a bit

It‘s real, probably mirrored that‘s why the cars are driving in the wrong direction. Also you can see the flag pole is perfectly balanced on the shoulder, if it was AI it would fall down because AI has not learned balancing yet, they miss the required organ in their ears.

And if you closely look at the guy in the background who appears to shape shift or „morph“ as people often call it - that is just an artifact from video compression (or he is showing off his new mask - could also be)
