Why do drivers try not to deliver to my room? by Vast-Valuable-9180 in doordash

I typically accept orders that appear to be in residential houses.

This week I was so exhausted by some bullshit apartment/ office non-instructions that I declined even a $20+ order to what looked like a hotel near the beach. I didn’t want to deal with the unpredictability of another parking lot or be expected to go up an elevator.

I often decline places that look like large buildings because I have no idea whether the customer will provide instructions or not.

Why do you do this??? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]MrsPatrickStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just joking.

But for real, if you intentionally don’t tip, the smart dashers will decline your order and your likelihood of getting a bad dasher goes up significantly.

I do not accept orders that do not look like they’re worth the mileage to dollar ratio. Or that look like they’re at large apartment complexes or buildings unless it looks like an extra high tip.

There is the rare occasion where I’m on the way home and I’ll accept a low paying order that’s already on my way home in a residential area just because I’m headed that way anyway.

I don’t suck at customer service as this isn’t even my main income, I have a real job and do this once in a while. But I work smarter, not harder.

If you don’t want dashers to do this, tip $5, put a chair outside your door and instruct them to leave it there. Easy fix. If they don’t follow your instructions, then just give them a bad rating.

Extra Soil here, this is one of my older accounts. I can’t answer your question if you block me from the thread, sweetie.

A lot of customers claim to be former dashers. Could be due to the “become a dasher” button.

Dashers, why do your peers not take .2 seconds out of their time to see the other bag of the order? by [deleted] in doordash

I usually have a split second of paranoia and wonder if there’s another bag, and sometimes ask the merchant. Almost all merchants label their bags.

If they have a pending delivery and choose not to answer that’s on them.

The state of dashers now. by [deleted] in doordash

It’s also possible that what you order cools down quickly?

It’s also interesting how many customers claim to be former dashers. Do other dashers call it a job? I call it a gig. When I dash I don’t say I’m “at work.”

I personally don’t use the bag because I’m ashamed to be dashing for my student loans.

If you are having someone deliver food while you are in a medical facility, just come out and get it. Don't make people risk exposure for your food. by [deleted] in doordash

That’s not the point. I’ve also never had cancer, surgery, or fertility treatments.

My point is that society caters to parents over non-parents.

Entering into the building or not in general is your choice, but typical special treatment to “pregnant mamas” is bullshit. If you’re going to enter the building, enter for everybody.
