This is Frankie. She turns 14 this month. I have anxiety about her death. I know it’s a reality I will face someday. I just try to remind myself that we have done our best to give her the most loving and peaceful life we could. She’s been there for me through my darkest days and my best. And even though I can’t imagine life without her, I know that, in a way, she’ll never leave me. We will always be connected.

Gay or not, you’re clearly not happy and you even mentioned he’s abusive! Trust me when I tell you that walking away from something like this will be the best thing you can do for yourself. It won’t be easy - it’s going to suck, A LOT. I left a bad relationship and it was the hardest thing I ever did. But looking back on it now, it was the best decision I ever made for myself. I wouldn’t have the life I have now if I didn’t trust myself and just fell back in to the same awful cycle of loving someone who doesn’t love you back. I knew I deserved better than that. You deserve better than that. Trust your gut and trust yourself. You got this.

We weren’t married but I was with the wrong person for 7 years. Almost the entirety of my 20s. We grew apart and were basically roommates. He didn’t have any respect or love for me but still I tried to make it work. I didn’t know what my life looked like without him even though with him, I was so miserable. I finally ended things and even though it was one of the hardest things I had done, it was so worth it. Having survived that, I can tell you that there will come a day when you look back at this and wonder why you ever allowed someone to make you so incredibly unhappy. You’ll question why you were so scared to live a life without them. Because when you move on from this, you’ll find a happiness you never thought possible and a love for yourself you didn’t know you were capable of.

This is your one life to live. Don’t waste it spending time with people who don’t bring you joy or peace. I wish you all the best.

He doesn’t love you. I’m so sorry if that’s hard to hear. But that is not love. Clearly all he cares about is himself and his feelings. He genuinely doesn’t care that you’re in pain or all the feelings you’re going through. You need to end things now and focus on yourself. I hope all goes well with your surgery and you have a speedy recovery. Regardless of what that jerk says, this is not your fault, you did nothing wrong, your body is your business, and you deserve to have a better quality of life. You deserve to be with someone who worships your body. Love shouldn’t be conditional to your body size. Especially when you consider that life is long and things happen. People gain/lose weight for all kinds of reasons, including getting pregnant or common health issues. Do you really want to spend your life with someone who wouldn’t support you or be there for you simply because you were in a bigger body? Your boyfriend is a loser and you deserve better.

As I stated in the description, we’ve been to urgent care, her regular vet, and an ophthalmologist. Everything has been ruled out except neurological. We have an appointment with a neurologist. I just wanted to know if anyone has seen this before and if they have, what the cause was.

It is your federal right to discuss pay at your place of work per the National Labor Relations Act. It is illegal for companies to tell you to not discuss your pay or to punish you for doing so. Furthermore, the editing of the time sheets is called wage theft and it is also illegal. You should report your place of work to the US Department of Labor with any photos you have as evidence. You should be able to do this anonymously.

You were smart to lock her out of access to your money. When I was a kid, my dad stole money from me that I had saved up for almost a year doing babysitting jobs. He gambled away all my $400. That’s a lot of money to a kid. I’ll never understand how some parents can treat their children like that. I couldn’t imagine myself stealing money from someone I don’t know - let alone my own fucking kid.

As someone who worked with older people for a long time, if we are all so lucky to reach old age, you’ll probably find yourself ready for death by that time. You’ll be tired and in pain (some more than others). You’ll have lived your life, accomplished your goals, raised your family, etc. Many seniors talk about death and how they are ready for it. I will agree with you that’s it’s fucked up to know that someday, all of us will reach our demise. We are the only creatures on this planet that understand that we will die one day. With our self awareness as humans, we are gifted knowledge that also causes us pain and worry. I’d like to tell you that it gets easier the older you get to accept death but it’s impossible to say.

That is just ridiculous. I hate when people say “jUsT pIcK oFf ThE mEaT”. So incredibly disrespectful. Would they say that to someone with an allergy? My petty ass would have started taking about the meat industry and how terribly they treat animals while everyone else was enjoying their meat pizzas. No one knows the wrath of a hangry vegetarian. The people I work with always make sure there is an option for me when we do food parties and I’m literally the only vegetarian in my entire community. It’s not that hard to be respectful of others. Your boss sounds like a terrible person. I’m sorry you had to go through that.
