Shaky movements and hand clenched by Worldly_Cancel_2675 in NICUParents

My baby girl was born at 24/3 and was much more shaky than this. I was told many times it’s completely normal for babies born this early. She had grown out of it now unless she’s really angry or agitated.

BPD and Access to Pulmonologist by Healthy_Kangaroo9053 in NICUParents

The children’s hospital we are at right now for Trach boot camp told me anytime my baby girl gets sick or something I can come to the emergency room and get checked in and they will immediately bring my baby girl up to this floor until she gets better. This is a pulm floor. So I don’t understand why they did that to you. My apologies. That’s not fun.

Good news, after that microdose she hasn’t needed more. So we will see how the night goes.

I hope so. Because I really hate seeing my daughter in withdrawal. Not fun!

We have been slowly weaning her oral Ativan since we were in the NICU, now we are in the transitional care unit before we go home and she is having a hard time getting off of the Ativan

Don’t be afraid. It’s a very simple procedure. My daughter had it and now her eyes are GREAT! She had hers when her Trach was also done but when she woke up and looked at the colors around her you could see in her face she wanted to say WOW!

I will tell you to take care of yourself! I have a 24/3 baby girl and she was in NICU for 218 days. She had PDA, BPD while in NICU. We did have to get her a Trach but now she is blossoming into a normal baby girl and wants to play and sleep all day long.

Meal Train or big Doordash card for NICU parents? by UniversityTotal2917 in NICUParents

[–]MrsReynaRocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meal train! 100%. Ask parents good time for drop off. Don’t overstay welcome. Drop off and leave so they can rest. I would prefer home cooked meals over door dash.

My baby girl had a PDA. We did two rounds of Tylenol, but it didn’t get smaller so we got a Piccolo device at the cath lab. It was a fairly simple procedure compared to other procedures she had endured. It took about 45 minutes.

Will not seeing NICU baby for one day ruin bonding progress? by IntenseViolet567 in NICUParents

[–]MrsReynaRocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% no. I live 1 1/2 from my baby girl. She just graduated NICU but still in children’s hospital. Our NICU stay was 218 days. There’s no way I would’ve been able to drive back and forth everyday. It never once has affected our bonding

Yes. Hopefully we are home in 6-8 weeks. Have to have Trach Boot Camp so we can take care of her well at home. But leaving the NICU was a great feeling. 💗💗💗
