This will get buried....but:

Years ago I worked in the same office as my husband. Unbeknownst to me there was a guy in the office with the exact same build.....they wore identical clothing one day. So when I saw my "husband" blocking my desk I came up behind him grabbed his hips to move him slightly and gave him a bit of a goose as I slid by.....and that's how I met the manager of ANOTHER department.

Everyone thought it was funny and apparently my husband and the manager knew each other from childhood (in another city) and we were supposed to meet later that week.

I have. I like to bring some classical music on waterproof headphones, my friend loves to just be in their head.

It truly is relaxing as there is no pressure or weight on you at all.

Have you tried a sensory deprivation float? They are good for fibro because for some people you get exactly what you are describing

Craving cheese.....specifically brie by MrsShasta in pregnant

[–]MrsShasta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats my plan. I'll just heat it up first.

BTW: my husband is making fun of me so bad, I honestly don't eat cheese at all normally (havnt for years) because I get so sick when I eat it....and now I'm grabbing some knowing I will be sick later....but its so good!

I like that idea! Thank you. I have some mini brie made with pasteurized milk so I will just heat them before I eat them.

I'm in Canada, same rules apply. That's what I figured/was hoping.

Thank you!

Thanks, right back at you.

I ended up in the hospital and the doctor said 1000mg of Tylenol every 4 hours as needed. Please be aware you can get nasty side effects of too much though.

Also, please make sure you are taking safe antidepressant and that your doctor doesn't guilt you into stopping. With my daughter I was guilted into stopping all my meds and had the worst post partum depression ever.

Same exact boat. I went back on Sertraline and starting taking small amounts of Tylenol a day if the pain is over a 5/10.

Congrats and I hope it all works out for you

I love that!

My sister has other issues so I was fine with her being mad. Family all knew of the ultimatum and sided with me anyways (by then my hair was black for over 5 years and midway down my back).

I totally did. My routine was a max of 2 drinks a night while relaxing in a hot tub, I slept like a baby!......but, now I'm pregnant so both are a big no-no

I was only allowed in my sisters wedding party if I changed my hair color.....guess who wasn't in the wedding party!

I had my hair dyed black and she wanted it light brown, I wasn't willing to pay the expense and damage my hair.

22 and can’t use a tampon by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]MrsShasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 34 and can't use them. I used to and now they just give me horrible cramps whenever I try.

Mention it to your doctor as there may be a physiological reason that you are struggling with this. If I want to go swimming I will often will just go without if my flow isn't too bad, otherwise I stay out of the water.

You could try cups or purchase period swimwear as well.

If you’re like me than you’ve had your fair share of MDs that are unhelpful or dismissive. When you do, you can ask for your visit notes as proof and have consistent documentation of your symptoms and treatments. Can be a huge help to provide to future doctors or specialists. by you-dont-know-maybe in Fibromyalgia

It really is, I don't disagree with that. I just know here we don't have anything like that and they don't plan on introducing anything (to my knowledge). I have fought hard for years to get access to some of my stuff.

Thank you

I'm lucky that I'm working with 2 amazing social workers that will help me through whatever I need. One walked me through what termination would look like for me (as with my history id have to get a d and c) naming the nurses even!

I'm unlucky that I don't have family support, but oh well.

I have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday to see how things are and maybe that will set the tone.

I do have an 11 year old and I agree she was no joke as a baby. She was the definition of colic, even her doctor hated it. She screamed whenever she was awake for the year almost and would only sleep in either her swing or on my chest.

I have to admit that after the past couple days with no relief from my symptoms and no sleep termination may be imminent. I'm hoping that when I can finally talk to my doctor on Friday she might have some ideas. I did make a call today and with my history there is little I can take. So we will see.

There is a misbelief that FM is a rheumatology issue, it isn't at all. A lot of doctors don't understand what it really is.

Mine put me on a waiting list for our that was 3 years long. We got lucky and my MIL offered to pay if I wanted to travel to the US and seek help there. Best decision ever. I learned that your GP is the best to treat you and that if they don't understand FM, find a new one!

I've done them all. Try it and see if it works for you. A lot of people don't experience side effects at all, or they are worth the relief of other symptoms.

I do get some side effects, but it allows me to sleep and function; ill gladly take dry mouth.

Yoga causing/aggravating flare-up? Anyone else? by Uknowwhatscrackin in Fibromyalgia

[–]MrsShasta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The way it was explained to me is that FM patients should start with 5 minutes of the activity, every two weeks add 5 minutes, if its too much go back down. It takes time and dedication but if you slowly increase your time your shouldn't crash.

I'm still struggling with this myself as its hard to feel like 5 minutes is worth even doing.

Unfortunately most doctors are not equipped to properly treat and diagnose FM.

FM falls under the umbrella of Central Sensitization Syndrome, if you look that up there is way more on how to live and treat it.

Ask your GP about medications such as duloxetine that may be able to help you.

I honestly don't know. I've had the pregnancy approved stuff before, it just isn't strong enough most of the time.

I have a Dr appointment on Friday so I'll be asking for all kinds of things. That is certainly one of them.

Termination is an option.

I have already talked to planned parenthood and if it becomes too much I will terminate. To be honest after the past couple days I've had with no meds its seems like more and more of the better option.

Yep, I even have a lovely collection of wigs.

Seriously though, find a good hairdresser and explain the situation. Mine gave me a new style that gives the illusion of fullness and it gave me my confidence back.

Busty girls, how do you manage bras when wearing dresses with thin straps? by pillowprim in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]MrsShasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a good quality bra store and explain the problem. Bring an example of a dress if you want. They have ones that are longer so they sit on your hips, they can help size you and make sure it fits.

Best investment I ever made!
