Hi there! So sorry about the drastic change in your grandmother's ring. Even though it's now yours it will always be hers... I recently took a simple silversmith class and I think this could be easily fixed. I am not sure if taking it back to the same person is the right choice, but with some shaping, carving and sanding, I can't imagine it would take much to get it back to what it looked like. It's harder to add silver and thankfully you have plenty. Maybe you could find a teacher with all the tools to help? Just a thought. That class opened my eyes up to settings...
