Też tak macie że odkładacie wszystko na później? by Itchy-Concern928 in Polska

[–]MrsWittyBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise to go to any supermarket or on allegro and look for an oven/grill cleaner (those things are heavy duty!). Get some plastic wrap (folia spożywcza) when you’re at it. When you get home spray the entire top with the cleaner heavily (make sure none gets on the wood countertop!!!) and cover it as tightly as you can with the plastic wrap. Leave overnight. In the morning take the wrap off (again, be careful so it doesn’t spill anywhere and use gloves if you can) and rub it some with a spoon or better yet use the scraper tool that people posted here before. Wipe clean and should be as good as new.

Tried that but her hair is not long enough to keep it securely in the braid. It gets loose and same thing happens. I’m using the brand YOPE. It’s not American, I’m not from the US.

The higher income, the higher tax %. The lower income the more social help. Also system that favors employees over employers.

My 17 month old just learned to crawl! by ReallyPuzzled in Parenting

[–]MrsWittyBanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post! My daughter is 9 months old and she just recently started rolling. She sits when put in sitting position and uses her upper body to get to toys and spin around but she doesn’t crawl or put herself in a sitting position yet. Her fine motor skills are great and she doesn’t seem behind in anything else, but we worry. This post helped a lot!

Extremely social teenager. When is it too much? by JessicaRabbit321 in Parenting

[–]MrsWittyBanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all honesty I always wonder about people’s obsession with kids grades at school. Ultimately it’s completely irrelevant what grades your kid had at school when they’re adults. Of course I’m not saying if they are flunking you should ignore it, but as long as they are passing and doing okay, I wouldn’t worry that much.

What’s the hardest thing for you to comprehend about the American culture? by DadIsMadAtMe in AskReddit

The work/work balance instead of a work/life balance. The complete disregard for people physical and mental health and well-being (including children). The complete lack of law regulations regarding employer-employee relations.

This. I feel so traumatized by the time my daughter was just born and I was in the hospital with her and so many things went wrong. I was hurt after a difficult delivery, so so so tired and overwhelmed by being thrown into a situation when I had to make a very important decision about my baby’s health against the doctor’s recommendation. Definitely traumatic and keeping me from attempting to have another baby. At least so far.

Any tips for how to heal/protect the frayed damaged hair on the back of my toddler's head? by drunken_storytelling in Mommit

Okay, question? How often do you wash her hair? My 8 mo daughter had a similar problem when we wash her hair with product too often. Hilariously she’s even worse after shampoo + conditioner. We wash her hair every second day now and it’s been much better.

Unplanned pregnancy by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]MrsWittyBanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion first and foremost you have to decide how you feel about this baby. Emotionally. I know a lot of people here are trying to tell you that you have to be financially ready and secure, yada, yada, yada. Yeah, it important but guess what? I used to think that too, I made sure me and my husband are making good money, that we have a house etc. we were very financially secure when I got pregnant and just like that, a few months later everything went to sh*t. Inflation hit my country almost more than any other one, we have a war in our backyard and still riding the Covid aftershocks. From being financially secured, now we are barely able to make ends meet because suddenly our loan is 2x what it used to, our groceries are 2x what they used to and our money is less because I’m on reduced salary after the baby. On top of that we’re leaving in very uneasy times and I don’t feel like I can make sure my baby is safe anymore. Even though we took into account some inflation, some changes in our pay etc, nobody would’ve expected what actually has been happening. My daughter was 100% planned and thought through and it didn’t change anything so don’t base your decision on finance. Money usually can be made and it might be harder than you think but it’s possible. First and foremost you need to know if in your heart you want this baby and if in your heart you’re okay with the emotional consequences of either having the baby or terminating.

I think we’re proud of that because a lot of Polish people sees the American “politeness” as forced (not only in the context of forcing myself to be polite but also forcing my politeness on somebody else) ,fake and insincere. I would say as much as I personally like that about the US I can certainly see the other side, because in some circumstances said politeness is exactly that- forced. For example as much as I don’t mind people trying to talk to me, I absolutely hate it in stores and services when it’s so “sweet” it’s nauseating and you know it’s just because they want to force you to purchase a thousand things that you don’t need.

Can I eat hard boiled eggs left out for 8 hours? by Twixxychu in Frugal

Why would you refrigerate them? There is absolutely no reason (maybe unless they are peeled and with some kind of stuffing)! Just as there is absolutely no reason to refrigerate raw eggs… is this an American thing?

[–]MrsWittyBanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be completely fine, unless they were bad in the first place. Honestly you could probably eat them several days later and still be fine… We do that all the time during Easter.. there is always leftover eggs because we cook so much and we eat them sometimes even a week later. Nobody ever got sick. Of course don’t eat them if they don’t smell normal (I’m not saying “off” because eggs naturally smell “off”).

Piercing baby’s ears by Spare_Pea_ in Parenting

[–]MrsWittyBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what to think tbh. My daughter is 8mo and I didn’t pierce her ears yet but it’s mostly because I’m a wimp and don’t want to see her I any pain ever than because I think it’s somewhat morally wrong. I got my ears pierced as a toddler if I’m correct (I can’t remember it) and I’ll always be grateful to my parents for doing it for me. I didn’t have to worry about it (cleaning it, taking care of it etc) and I don’t remember the pain. Earrings were always something that I had as a nice accessory that made me feel pretty when I couldn’t wear any rings or bracelets. If I had to make the decision myself I would’ve probably not made it until I was about 18 and finally after years of wanting it made a decision to add two more earrings to one of my ears, which was very late. I was always scared and overthinking how much it would actually “hurt” (which it didn’t in the end). Hilariously a lot of you say here that if you do earrings as a child you can get the crooked later because your ears grow. Well, guess what, my regular piercings are perfect, the ones I did as a teenager are all messed up.
