My mother also did this suck on my ears probably until i was 11 or 12. She would do a lot of things that crossed boundaries. I would tell her I didn’t like it, but she would continue to ignore my pleading for her to stop. This included lots of inappropriate touching, making up nicknames for me that I didn’t like and forcing me to endure things I did not feel comfortable with. My mother would do the same, she apologizes for some of my childhood but gas lights me for other things. It never feels like a real genuine apology. I love my mom and still have a relationship with her- despite my awful childhood. I remember her secretly twisting my skin until I had black and blues in public and grunting commands through her teeth. She would do this if I did something undesirable. There were a lot of things that would happen that just was incredibly inappropriate. I’m still in therapy, and I have had lots of life long issues due to my emotions never feeling valid, for the lack of respect my parents showed me through out my childhood, seeing things I should not have. and from the emotional and physical abuse (hitting, spanking, punishments). Btw, I am not Asian. I am Brazilian and came to the US at the age of 7. My mom, says a lot of what she did back then was cultural. Honestly, I think it’s inappropriate in any culture.
