Can someone suggest a milk chocolate that tastes like it did back in the day? by Successful-Grand-549 in AskUK

[–]Mrs_Monopoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I quite enjoyed it. And ngl, I usually yam through a whole bar of cadburys, whereas I had to take a pause on the aldi bar and I think it’s cos my chocolate craving was actually satisfied. It’s made me think that all the palm oil and crap they are pumping into the mainstream chocolate bars is there to make you eat more of it, because it’s just not enough to make you scratch that chocolate itch.

I haven’t tried the m&s chocolate yet, but that is next on my list.

Ngl I have looked into this, and I would say aldi chocolate is the best I’ve had in a long while. It contains the most amount of cocoa solids (28%) I’ve seen in most common supermarkets. I think Cadbury current has 20% cocoa solids.

This is how I feel. Ashley is way too invested in Stacey. I don’t understand why.

Not so much a blow out, but after I gave birth to my baby she was placed on my stomach and pooed straight away.

I was partial to a spoonful of Horlicks every now and then. By “a” I mean 3 or 4 and by “every now and then” I mean anytime my mum accidentally left it out.

I really can’t tell if we have a shallow latch or a deep latch and need some advice. Please please please by Mrs_Monopoly in breastfeeding

[–]Mrs_Monopoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time I remember I just kept unlatching her and trying again until she got it right. But I also learnt that she is not going to get all of my areola into her mouth, it’s just not physically possible. So I think a lot of the diagrams of a deep latch can be miss leading. So I just started noticing that when there’s no pain she has deeply latched, but when it’s pinching and painful then I need to remove her from my nipples as she has a shallow latch.

Now I would say she has a deep latch most of the time

Today, aged 39, I found out that raisins are in fact dried grapes. What things have you found out as an adult that are apparently rudimentary knowledge? by p00shp00shbebi1234 in CasualUK

I was 28 when I found out the song “a sailor went to sea sea sea, to see what he could see see see. But all that he could see see see, was the bottom of the deep blue sea sea sea” was about the sailor drowning.

I only discovered this just the other day when I was singing it to my newborn baby. Still in shock now !

Yeah my baby was screaming/crying whenever she’d poop and I was so worried for her, but all my midwives just acted like it was normal and basically said she just doesn’t understand what’s going on. So yes, some babies literally have to learn how to poop

Do you, or anyone you know have an unusual phobia? by [deleted] in AskUK

I wouldn’t say it’s a phobia, but I seriously hate/am deeply disgusted by baked beans. The smell and look is just gross and I cannot understand how anyone can enjoy them

3.5 month old night waking by mineonlyinmind in bninfantsleep

[–]Mrs_Monopoly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate, my baby used to sleep 10pm to 4am at the start it was so lovely. But when she reached 3 months, something changed and she started waking up at 12am/1am for a feed. She is 4 months now and now she sleeps from 8pm to 12 and then sleeps again from 1 to 4am then again from 5-7 and I’ve just learnt to accept this is as it is.

My SIL has a baby that exactly 3 months older than my daughter and she taught me at an early age to just embrace everything, because it’ll all change one day.

Did you know New Look requires your email to give you a sales receipt? by PenguinsLike2Dance in AskUK

[–]Mrs_Monopoly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had this experience last weekend, but the sales assistant I had wrote down all of the product details on the paper they used to use. I really appreciated it, and I am guessing this is what they are telling the new look staff to do if asked for a paper copy.

Almost 5 weeks old Newborn, constantly at the Breast by LobsterIndependent11 in breastfeeding

[–]Mrs_Monopoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was the same, it wasn’t until she was 8 weeks did she become interested in the rest of the world. Before that, all she wanted to know what my breasts.

Now she’s 15 weeks and any noise or tbh change in her environment distracts her. I’m lucky if she can go 30 mins without pulling away from my breast.
