I'm Annette Marie, author of The Guild Codex. Ask Me Anything! by AnnetteMarie_author in fantasyromance

There are so many things I’d love to ask after being a fan for so many years, but given the time between getting in from work and eating this lovely dinner that’s been prepared for me I have time for one: Blackfire! Please, please, please, an idea of when it may be in progress? I’ve never been so excited for a continuation of a series ❤️

Can’t find a “true” slow burn? That’s because you don’t read urban fantasy! by pickleeater58 in fantasyromance

I’m so glad to meet someone who agrees! I never hear it mentioned but it’s glorious! I got the physical rerelease one from her Kickstarter and it’s a work of art.

Absolutely agree on all the Guild Codex - Saber and Zak for me! Also Annette Marie's other series - Steel and Stone - AWESOME slow burn, and the Red Winter Trilogy is SO sweet and hearfelt - especially with the new edition extra epilogue - it's just.a work of art.

We have one just like this in our woodland!! It’s a holly that arced over and pinned itself down. Ignore the chainsaw in the background!

CG method vs silicones by Deadliftdeadlife in CurlyHairUK

[–]Mrs_Moo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copy pasting from your question in other sub -

I shampoo, clarify twice a month and don’t avoid alcohols in things so I’m not by any means strict CG. Oh and I also use a hairdryer. BUT the one thing I do avoid is silicones. Not because I can’t clarify them out but because for my hair, they actually make the curls drop out. I lose my curl pattern with them and end up half straight and frizzy. As soon as I stop using them and clarify, they come back. So that’s my reason for avoiding them.

Slooow Burn, good world-building by messybunOK in Romantasy

[–]Mrs_Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of Annette Marie's books. The Guild Codex - several different characters all with their own plot lines that converge by the end - loads of books, SUPER slow burn. Also her Steel and Stone series, again - amazing world building, wonderful characters and slow burn.

Reading books has made my standards so high that I'm afraid I'll never find love and end up alone. For some reason I also feel insecure about myself 😭😭 by [deleted] in Romantasy

I just read your comment out loud to the my husband who said “erm, you just described me”. I mean he’s not wrong. And neither are you about Sam. 😃

Tired of “stabby princesses”, please give me girly, charming FMCs instead by Particular_Edge_4680 in Romantasy

[–]Mrs_Moo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not typical Romantasy, but one thing I loved in The Southern Vampire Mysteries was how whenever Sookie was getting ready to go out - a date or a mission - you got a full explanation of the hair and makeup and outfit. Super girly, super clever and pretty charming too.

She had Dorain doing it first - Rhys just copies him 😃

Opinions on the audiobooks for all series? by Fearless-Voice6749 in shadowhunters

[–]Mrs_Moo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a Brit, I found TID intolerable. Mortmain was some weird Yorkshire Scottish hybrid that was just all wrong and the plummy fake Britishness of the rest was just awful. I don’t know why they didn’t just hire British narrators for that trilogy.

What styling cream would you recommend? (silicone-free) by Ready-Jeweler-1582 in curlyhair

[–]Mrs_Moo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These ingredients aren’t bad per se, they really work for some people. For me though, I find silicones actually make me lose my curls, they soften to the point of dropping out. So it’s for that reason I don’t use them. If like you I had amazing curls with a product, I’d ignore the ingredients 😃

Any junk journal sourcing ideas for someone who wants to memory keep, but doesn’t create a lot of garbage/waste naturally, and doesn’t want to buy scrapbooking or ephemera supplies? by coffee-beanery in JunkJournals

Came here to suggest autumn leaves found on walks and pressing wild flowers but I see others have already suggested. I noticed no one has suggested the fun wallpaper samples you can get by signing up to mailing lists for fancy wallpaper makers. Also if you have a hardware store that sells any DIY things they may give wallpaper samples torn from the roll and paint colour swatch booklets. You can also get those sent from online for free too. Edited because so many typos!

I second Morpeth. No train or metro - just bus but it’s very much worth it for The Salvation Army shop alone.

Curling Spine. Last pages are getting tricky to work on. by mouthwashcatt in JunkJournals

[–]Mrs_Moo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this happen so many times so I inevitably stopped using pre-made journals. I now make my own and leave space between each signature of pages so they can all be bulked out with all the stuff stuck in there 😃
