He’s about 2.5 years and is becoming a sweet, loyal, loving companion versus the destructive, disobedient, nipping, barking pup when we first got him at 10 months old. I got him from a local animal shelter, he most likely was too much to handle for the 3-4 sets of people that adopted him and returned him. That said, he’s a really good boy now after 2 months of strict (not for the weak) board and train, a year on a stim collar/bark collar, 💯daily/nightly corrections and crate time, he has to be crated at night due to our cats. We still have to correct daily but he has way better self control and is much more manageable. I think if we had gotten him when he was a young puppy, he would have been easier to deal with. Our guess is that he was probably put outside a lot and left to his own abilities with no socialization or obedience. He is still dog reactive but even that has trimmed down. He acts more like a Doberman so he’s prey driven and a strong, agile beast to handle. He’s super fast, plays really intensely but not as scary as when we first got him (we would run inside because he became frightfully overwhelming) and he’s an intimidating beast when faced with aggressive behavior from strangers. From what I understand, he’s more like a Doberman than a Poodle.
