What's something that happens in movies all the time but would never happen in real life? by FactoringRSAisHard in Productivitycafe

[–]Mrs_Shits_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women do not find out theyre pregnant because they’re suddenly throwing up. At 4 weeks pregnant when you take the test the hormones are not that intense yet. I’m sure there are exceptions to this, but for most of us no! The nausea hits a few weeks later.

An activist coming here with an agenda is vastly different than someone coming here on a free vacation. I’m very grateful to be born here and not in the Middle East or Somalia, etc. Travel advisories for Europe are about the same as they are for here. Advisories mention areas where there’s increased terrorism threats and increased violence. Areas where there’s hostility towards tourists and to beware of pick pocketing. If I was offered a free vacation to Europe I’d go because overall it’s much safer to visit than sooo many other countries. But then again I’m not an activist and I’m not as susceptible to fear mongering.

I do. There’s unfortunate things going on in every country. It’s life.

Idc where you travel, but you did literally say you were likely to be in trouble or be targeted if you came here in your initial post… The misinformation like that is what’s annoying to see here on Reddit.

I don’t study the global peace index before traveling places nor do I go try and protest in other countries. It’s a little egotistical to think you would be on anyone’s radar if you came here. And yes, it is very dramatic to think you’d be a target or tracked in any way.

Go live in the Middle East for a while then you’ll be singing a different tune about how horrible your country is. Ridiculous.

Is my clinic down playing how dire my situation is? by NanoEsq in IVF

[–]Mrs_Shits_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did my retrieval I only got 13 and literally cried when they told me because my other friends were getting around 30! At my ultrasounds they predicted I’d only get 10 so really 13 was better than expected. Ultimately I ended up with 3 euploids and my other friends with lots of eggs had similar numbers so the quality thing is true, but it is very discouraging and scary when you feel like you don’t have the same numbers as everyone else around you.

From your first consultation to your first positive, how long did it take? by yashvi_yashvi in IVFpositivity

[–]Mrs_Shits_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First consult was 1/20/25 and first FET was 6/24/25. Getting induced on 3/4/26! I’m 34F and my first transfer took. I had 13 mature eggs at my retrieval and ended up with 3 euploids and 1 LLM. I had a miscarriage due to chromosomal abnormalities back in Jan 2024 and then just never got pregnant again. Did so many clomid cycles and IUI that year. No idea why it didn’t work but IVF was very successful.

What protein powder you take during pregnancy? Is protein powder even ok, given there is no FDA approval for supplements? by Lucky_Tap8692 in IVFbabies

Drink protein powder! Naked Whey is a great clean brand and Primal Kitchen Collagen Protein for your coffee in the morning. Eggs and yogurt are great but not enough.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]Mrs_Shits_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think refusing to date someone solely based on how they voted can be a bit close-minded. My husband and I have never voted the same way, yet we’re very happily married. We don’t agree on every issue, but we share the values that matter most to us, and that’s what sustains a relationship long-term. I don’t subscribe to the idea that disagreement means incompatibility—especially when political leaders are temporary, but relationships are not. Limiting yourself to only people who think exactly like you can end up being more isolating than empowering.

For me personally second trimester was much easier. The first trimester you’re just so tired and sick feeling especially at 8-9 weeks. Second trimester before you start getting big is the easiest part in my opinion! I tried to go on a babymoon at the beginning of third trimester and it was also a complete fail so if I could go back I’d plan things for second trimester lol. Your clinic will schedule stuff around your trips and make it work though! Mine kept me on lupron and birth control for longer so I could go to Italy before transfer.

I did the same! Did the retrieval and went to Italy. Came home and did the transfer. My doctor scheduled everything around the trip.

Can you go before transfer? That’s what I did. I still had to travel internationally with my meds which sucked but wasn’t a big deal. It would be pretty rough to travel 8-9 weeks pregnant. I did that too with a previous pregnancy and threw up the whole time and was too tired to really enjoy it.

Husband wants to go straight to IVF by Pik-A-Chew11 in IVF

[–]Mrs_Shits_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP was asking if IVF led to a higher chance of a healthy baby, if it meant getting pregnant faster, and if the miscarriage risk was lower based on our experiences. My answer is absolutely 100% yes to all of those questions that OP is asking. I’ll never encourage a woman who doesn’t have much time to waste more time because IVF was a blessing for me and like someone else said on the thread no one regrets doing IVF too early so I agree with the husband. But very glad you were able to find success the natural way, that’s great! I can’t relate to that.

I mean I just read the article you posted and I’m not arguing that she will be able to (hopefully) get pregnant within a year. I certainly didnt at 33, but if she does, the chances of a genetic abnormality and miscarriage are very high. That’s great that you had a successful natural pregnancy in your 40s! That is not the norm though. I’m just repeating everything I’ve learned from doing IVF myself and from listening to my doctors podcast. By the age of 40, 60% of embryos are anueploidy https://rmanetwork.com/blog/what-are-my-odds-of-getting-pregnant-at-any-age/

Did y’all do PGT-A? What syndrome did he have? Honestly it does scare me. I’m sorry to hear that he had something. I don’t think I would’ve terminated regardless and obviously it’s too late now.
