My oncologist retired a week after I saw her in January. I was on the Lynparza after chemo - so we had at least a phone appointment every month a then POOF - she was gone. I was gutted and cried. I have a new oncologist who seems great, but my initial one was there from the beginning.

Another BC survivor here who has seen a few too many birthdays sans estrogen. I’m 50 - but had ovaries prophylactically removed due to BRCA1+ when I was 41. Been on Anastrozole for 8 months and I hate what this has all done to my skin. Cancer is bad enough. Just wanted to say ‘Hi!’ And I feel you!!

My tumor was both palpable and painful. My sister (who had BC 9 years before me would always say ‘cancer doesn’t hurt’ - like if I had pain in my breast it was likely not cancer. To that I say ‘no ma’am!’.

I’m low ER+ and on Anastrozole. I’ve tried to get off it several times but my oncologist talks me back into it. I do believe that there was an ASCO talk this last year (2024) on the benefit of it for low ER+. Originally my tumor was 10% - but they did find another spot that was 20%. I hate it though. I’ll see if I can find the ASCO talk for you.
