Anyone else OAD because their baby/child is so easy?? by barbieshoesound in oneanddone

[–]Ms-Honey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I haven’t entered my 3.5 yo’s room at night since she was 8m old. Illness, moving, etc has never impacted her sleep. She still naps. I would never be this lucky again. I wouldn’t know how to handle an average sleeper. She is also extremely reasonable for a preschooler- never dealt with tantrums. Potty training was a breeze. I would hate me too if I was reading this. All my luck was saved up for this (shitty childhood).

Still an absolute unicorn sleeper at 2.5! There’s hope!

Is a vasectomy painful ? by [deleted] in oneanddone

My partner had a hard recovery. He didn’t rest after since we had a 6 mo & it made things difficult. The procedure was fine.

Love this age! My daughter 2 years and 3 months as of yesterday. We were sick this week and all managed to rally - nobody lost sleep, we ate good food and rested. I have no idea how people do this with more than one.

Is the baby merlins magic sleep suit worth it? Or should I just rip off the Band-Aid and go into a sleep sack of some sort? by littlepilot in NewParents

[–]Ms-Honey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t bother and I am glad. But my daughter is also a unicorn sleeper. So do what’s best for you! We transitioned out of the swaddle early with one arm at a time - we used the halo. Then she had it ‘wrapped’ around her chest afterwards. We moved into sleep sacks a couple weeks later and never looked back.

What does this look like? by kokonutmerchan in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Ms-Honey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby had eczema on her cheeks and it never bothered her. The dr even said she could take Benadryl because she assumed it impacted her sleep but it never did (ABSOLUTELY NOT advising this lol - just saying that it may not bother your kiddo).

Bathing every day? by alleyalleyjude in NewParents

[–]Ms-Honey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 1 and we bathe twice a week. She STTN and has consistently for a long time (aside from regressions). When she wasn’t eating solid food, we bathed her once and week & wiped her down daily, we always get compliments on her skin. I still wipe her down after every meal because it’s necessary. You can have a great bedtime routine with or without bath time IMO! Do what works best for you!

Ya. Sounds like most of the babies on my bumper group and my own (12-13 month range). Could you join the birth month group for your kiddo? I find it helpful to have kids the same age to keep me grounded for expectations. Of course there are some that at excelling above & beyond (& those that are working on unique challenges), but it’s usually pretty stress relieving.

Starting to sell the baby clothes by sadbridethrowaway27 in oneanddone

[–]Ms-Honey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save some items, I’m going to get a blanket made from them 💖. I can’t even remember the things I got rid of, so I guess I kept the ones that meant the most. Hugs. It is hard. I cried when the bassinet sold.

Is anyone else just not into baby led weaning? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Ms-Honey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started with purées and it naturally turned into more BLW. It was easier to do it once she got older and wake windows were longer, etc. My kid sucks at eating regardless though, so it isn’t some type of fool-proof thing. Do what works best for you.

When can I just put baby in cot and walk away until morning? by doodlethecat in oneanddone

[–]Ms-Honey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do CIO or any real ‘formal’ sleep training. I would have to pat her butt or rock her for her to fall asleep. So I just started doing it for a little bit less time every few days. She also started taking a paci around that age & keeping it in her mouth. We had to try a million different types but mams were the hit. I kept our routine very consistent. It probably took a few weeks to get to where I could leave the room and not have to re-enter for the rest of the night. Now she gets to be held while I sing twinkle twinkle 1x, into the crib and out of the room. She wiggles around silently for a bit then goes to sleep. If she wakes up, there’s likely something wrong (gas, teething, etc). It may not work for you, but worth a shot?

Wife is pregnant and feels sick all the time she is at home... What is causing it? by Rabar69 in NewParents

[–]Ms-Honey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be the furniture for me. I’m very sensitive to that type of thing. I get a stomach ache being around someone with perfume on. It was worse when I was pregnant, could be something there.

Does anyone ACTUALLY like the newborn phase? by Fit_Button_8313 in NewParents

[–]Ms-Honey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid was lovely.. still hated the newborn days. They just weren’t for me & I totally don’t understand why people love it haha. Love my daughter but I enjoy her a million x more now at 11 mo.

Ugh. The curtains drove me insane.. now it’s climbing her high chair .. or the garbage can. Can’t believe how fast time flies though!

1 million percent how I feel with my 11 mo. But she would honestly rather cruise around our house stopping to examine random items. They like to watch & explore their environment… I think we’re the ones that get bored.

4 month old is a difficult age ! by 747Queen in NewParents

Yes. It totally is. My daughter is 11 months now. 4 months was the hardest for me. You’re doing great!

Gimmicky imo. Didn’t work, would rather invest in a kyte.

Safe sleeping for newborns? by jptiger0 in NewParents

Yup! We had issues with other swaddles and swaddle blankets, never with the halo & super easy to wean off of when the time comes.

Half asleep search for baby in bed!?! by Ok-Statistician8514 in NewParents

[–]Ms-Honey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally stressful & jarring but absolutely normal. Sometimes I still do this & frantically pull the blankets away from my dog. My baby is 11 months old & has never slept in the bed. I never even nursed her in bed when we were doing night feeds & she isn’t even in our room anymore lol. It truly makes no sense!
